It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) with him and went to the date-palm garden where Ibn Sayyad used to live. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the garden, he began to walk while hiding behind the branches. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to quietly go and listen to some of Ibn Sayyad's words before he saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time, Ibn Sayyad was lying on his bed wrapped in a sheet, murmuring something. Ibn Sayyad's mother saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) coming, taking cover behind the branches and twigs, so she immediately called out, "Safiy (that was his name), Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is coming!" As soon as he heard this, he jumped up. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If that woman had left him (and had not informed him of my coming), he would surely have revealed his reality."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he once stood among the people and, after praising and glorifying Allah, mentioned the Dajjal and said: "I warn you against him, and every prophet before me has certainly warned his nation against the Dajjal. Even Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) warned his people about him. I will tell you a sign about him which no prophet before me has told his people, and that is that the Dajjal will be one-eyed, and Allah cannot be one-eyed."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The Jews will fight against you and you will prevail over them, to the extent that if a Jew hides beneath a stone, that stone will call out to the Muslims, saying: There is a Jew hiding beneath me, come and kill him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Jews of Banu Nadir and Banu Qurayza violated the treaty and fought against the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) exiled Banu Nadir and, showing kindness to Banu Qurayza, allowed them to remain there. But after a short period, Banu Qurayza again fought against the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) killed their men and distributed their women, children, and wealth among the Muslims, except for a few individuals. These few were those who presented themselves before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted them protection and they accepted Islam. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) exiled all the Jews from Madinah Munawwarah, among whom were the Banu Qaynuqa, who were the people of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam, and the Jews of Banu Harithah, in fact, every Jew residing in Madinah Munawwarah was included.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) expelled the Jews and Christians from the land of Hijaz, and when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conquered Khaybar, he intended at that very time to expel the Jews from there, because the land belongs to Allah, His Messenger, and the Muslims. However, the Jews requested the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to let them stay there, promising that they would work hard and suffice the Muslims, and would give them half of the fruits. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We will let you stay here as long as we wish" (i.e., it will be subject to our discretion). Thus, those people continued to live there until Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) expelled them towards Tayma and Ariha.

Then he would supplicate: "O Allah, I ask You for goodness, piety, and deeds that please You in this journey of mine. Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) combined two prayers only once. The situation was that he received news of the illness of Safiyyah bint Abi Ubayd. He set out after the Asr prayer, left his belongings there, and increased his pace. During the journey, the time for Maghrib prayer arrived. One of his companions drew his attention and said that the time for prayer had come, but he did not reply to him. Another said it, but he did not reply to him either. Even when a third person said it, he did not reply. When it was said a fourth time, he said: “I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that if he was in a hurry while traveling, he would delay this prayer and combine two prayers together.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Salat al-Khawf (prayer of fear) in such a way that he made one group stand behind him and had them perform one bowing (ruku) and two prostrations (sajdah), while the other group stood facing the enemy. Then the group that had prayed one rak’ah with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left, and the other group came. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had them also perform one bowing and two prostrations, and then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said the salam (ended the prayer).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him), probably towards the Banu Jadhimah. When he reached there, he invited the people to Islam. They could not clearly say that they had accepted Islam, but they began to say, "We have changed our religion" (the word "Saba'na" means to become irreligious). Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) began to take them captive and to kill them, and each of us was given a captive. When morning came, Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered that each person among us should kill his captive. I said, "I will not kill my captive, nor will any of my companions do so." On the return, people mentioned Sayyiduna Khalid's (may Allah be pleased with him) action to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands and said twice: "O Allah, I am free from what Khalid has done."

Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when Hajjaj attacked Sayyiduna Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was about to set out with the intention of Hajj. Someone said to him, “We fear that this year there will be fighting among the people and you may be prevented from reaching the Sacred Sanctuary.” Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied: “In the person of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) you have the best example. If any obstacle comes before me, I will do what the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did. I make you witnesses that I have made the intention for ‘Umrah.” After that, he set out, and when he reached the place of Bayda’, he said, “The matter of Hajj and ‘Umrah is the same, so I make you witnesses that I have now made the intention for Hajj along with my ‘Umrah.” Then he bought a sacrificial animal from the place of Qudayd and proceeded to Makkah Mukarramah. Upon reaching there, he performed the Tawaf of the House of Allah, performed Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and did not add anything to it. He did not offer a sacrifice nor did he shave or shorten his hair, and he did not consider anything lawful for himself until the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah. On the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, he offered the sacrifice and had his head shaved, and he held the opinion that he had already performed the Tawaf for both Hajj and ‘Umrah at the beginning. And he said: “The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did likewise.”
