It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Muzabanah. Muzabanah means selling dates that are still on the trees in exchange for harvested dates, or selling grapes in exchange for raisins according to a specified estimate.

Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him), who was the freed slave of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), says: Once, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was walking along a road when the sound of a shepherd’s singing and musical instrument reached his ears. He put his fingers in his ears and left that path, and at intervals he kept asking me, “Nafi’, can you still hear the sound?” If I replied “yes,” he kept walking, until when I said “no,” he removed his hands from his ears and brought his mount back onto the road. He then said, “I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do the same when he heard the sound of a shepherd’s singing and musical instrument.”

Whoever does not find shoes should cut the leather socks below the ankles and wear them. Likewise, a cap or any garment that has been touched by wars (a kind of grass) or saffron, the person in ihram should not wear that either."

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith to me, that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the sale of ‘ariyah (dates on the tree) according to an estimate.

Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "After that, I never swore such an oath intentionally or even while quoting someone."

On one occasion, Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him) or Zayd bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him driving away a snake, so he said that it is forbidden to kill snakes that enter houses.
