It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the mosque of Banu Amr bin Awf, that is, the Mosque of Quba, to perform prayer. There, some Ansari companions came to greet the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyiduna Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) was with them. I asked Sayyiduna Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was greeted, how did he reply? He said: He would gesture with his hand. Sufyan says: I said to a man, "Ask Sayyiduna Zaid bin Aslam (may Allah have mercy on him), did you hear this narration directly from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)?" I was too awed to ask myself, so that man asked him, "O Abu Usamah! Did you hear this narration directly from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)?" He replied: "I have seen him and have also spoken with him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would return from Hajj, Jihad, or Umrah, he would recite this supplication upon ascending any elevated ground: "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is powerful over everything. Returning in repentance, in prostration, in worship, and returning while praising our Lord. Allah has fulfilled His promise, helped His servant, and defeated all the armies alone. Returning in repentance, in prostration, in worship, and returning while praising our Lord."

Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say, "This is the place of Bayda about which you attribute something incorrectly to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Let not the Bedouins overpower you regarding the name of your prayer. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I once saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) seated on the pulpit. As soon as I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I quickly entered the mosque and sat down at a place, but before I had the chance to listen, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) descended from the pulpit. I asked the people what the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had said. The people informed me that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had forbidden making nabidh in dabba’ and muzaffat.
Hadith 4575
Ali bin Abdur Rahman Mu'awi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I had the opportunity to pray next to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). I began to turn over pebbles, so he forbade me from doing so and said that this is a satanic act. However, it is permissible to do it in the manner I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) do: he would move them like this. The narrator demonstrated by passing his hand (he would level the place of prostration, but would not keep doing it repeatedly and spoil the prayer).

Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) once set out with the intention of performing ‘Umrah. People informed him that there was unrest in Makkah at that time. He said: “I will enter into the state of Ihram for ‘Umrah. If any obstacle comes before me, I will do what the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did.” Then, as he continued on his way and reached the place of Bida’, he said: “The matter of Hajj and ‘Umrah is the same, so I make you witnesses that I have also made the intention for Hajj along with ‘Umrah.” Thus, he reached Makkah, performed one Tawaf by making seven circuits, and performed seven circuits of Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and said: “I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) doing the same, that when he reached the place of Qudayd, he bought a sacrificial animal and took it along with him.”

During this time, I heard him narrate only one hadith of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was this: Once we were sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a bunch of dates was brought to him from somewhere. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among the trees, there is a tree that is like a Muslim (can you tell which tree it is?)" I wanted to say that it is the date palm tree, but when I looked, I saw that I was the youngest among all the people present in that gathering, so I remained silent. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself said that it is the date palm tree.
