Hadith 4648
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْغَادِرُ يُرْفَعُ لَهُ لِوَاءٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، يُقَالُ : هَذِهِ غَدْرَةُ فُلَانِ بْنِ فُلَانٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, a flag will be raised for every deceiver, and it will be announced: This is the deception of so-and-so, son of so-and-so."
Hadith 4649
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْنَا السِّلَاحَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever raises a weapon against us is not one of us."
Hadith 4650
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنِي
سَالِمٌ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا ، فَإِنَّ لَهُ قِيرَاطًا " ، فَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْقِيرَاطِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever accompanies a funeral and offers the funeral prayer will receive a reward equal to one qirat." Someone asked the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about the qirat, so he said that it is equal to the mountain of Uhud.
Hadith 4651

يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
مَالِكٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ سَمِعْتُ
ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ : جَاءَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَخَطَبَا ، فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ بَيَانِهِمَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا " أَوْ " إِنَّ بَعْضَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that two men from the east came to the presence of the Messenger of Allah. The people were amazed at the fluency and eloquence of their speech. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some speech has the effect of magic."
Hadith 4652
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِنًي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَمَعَ عُمَرَ ، وَمَعَ عُثْمَانَ صَدْرًا مِنْ إِمَارَتِهِ ، ثُمَّ أَتَمَّ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I performed two rak'ahs (units of prayer) with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at Mina, and also with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and in the early days of the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). Later, Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) began to perform it in full.
Hadith 4653
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) in a marfu’ form that: “Offer prayers in your houses also; do not make them like graveyards.”
Hadith 4654
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Trim the moustaches thoroughly and let the beard grow abundantly."
Hadith 4655
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from coming to the mosques."
Hadith 4656
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " بَاتَ بِذِي طُوًى حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ " ، وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the place of Dhi Tuwa, he would spend the night there, and after morning would enter Makkah Mukarramah, and Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would do the same.
Hadith 4657
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ ؟ قَالَ : " يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ " ، قَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ : " وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads." The people said, "Please supplicate for those who shorten their hair as well." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then, on the fourth time, said for those who shorten their hair: "O Allah, forgive those who shorten their hair as well."
Hadith 4658
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا يُعْرَضُ عَلَيْهِ مَقْعَدُهُ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ ، إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، فَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَمِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، يُقَالُ : هَذَا مَقْعَدُكَ حَتَّى تُبْعَثَ إِلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every person is shown his place morning and evening; if he is among the people of Paradise, then his place among the people of Paradise is shown to him, and if he is among the people of Hell, then his place among the people of Hell is shown to him, and it is said: 'This is your place until you are resurrected.'"
Hadith 4659

عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يُقِيمُ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ فَيَجْلِسَ فِيهِ ، وَلَكِنْ تَفَسَّحُوا وَتَوَسَّعُوا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should make another get up from his place and then sit there himself, but rather, you should spread out and make room for each other."
Hadith 4660
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ، وَبَعْدَهَا سَجْدَتَيْنِ ، وَبَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ، وَبَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ، وَبَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ، فَأَمَّا الْجُمُعَةُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، قَالَ : وَأَخْبَرَتْنِي أُخْتِي حَفْصَةُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي سَجْدَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ إِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَتْ سَاعَةً لَا أَدْخُلُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he performed two rak‘ahs before Zuhr and two rak‘ahs after it with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and also two rak‘ahs after Maghrib and two rak‘ahs after ‘Isha. However, after Jumu‘ah and Maghrib, he used to pray at his home, and my sister Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) informed me that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would also perform two short rak‘ahs at the time of Fajr, but that was a time when I would not go to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 4661
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَرَضَهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ فَلَمْ يُجِزْهُ ، ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ ، فَأَجَازَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he was presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the occasion of the Battle of Uhud, and at that time he was fourteen years old. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not permit him to participate in the battle. Then, on the day of the Battle of Khandaq, he was presented again, and he had turned fifteen years old, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission.
Hadith 4662
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): If a person becomes impure by choice, can he sleep in that state? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, he should perform ablution and then sleep."
Hadith 4663
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَامَلَ أَهْلَ خَيْبَرَ بِشَطْرِ مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْ ثَمَرٍ أَوْ زَرْعٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made this agreement with the people of Khaybar: whatever fruits or crops are produced, you will give us half of it.
Hadith 4664
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are three people, then two of you should not whisper to each other excluding the third."
Hadith 4665
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ ، إِنْ عَقَلَهَا صَاحِبُهَا ، حَبَسَهَا ، وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَهَا ، ذَهَبَتْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the bearer of the Qur'an is like the owner of a tied camel; if he keeps it tied, it remains under his control, and if he lets it loose, it goes away."
Hadith 4666
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ يَهُودِيَّيْنِ زَنَيَا ، فَأُتِيَ بِهِمَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " فَأَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهِمَا ، قَالَ : فَرَأَيْتُ الرَّجُلَ يَقِيهَا بِنَفْسِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a Jewish man and woman committed adultery, and the people brought them to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At the command of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), both of them were stoned. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that he saw that Jewish man bending over the woman to shield her from the stones.
Hadith 4667
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَدْرَكَ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ فِي رَكْبٍ وَهُوَ يَحْلِفُ بِأَبِيهِ ، فَقَالَ : " لَا تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ ، لِيَحْلِفْ حَالِفٌ بِاللَّهِ أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) heard Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) swearing by his father. He said: Allah forbids you from swearing by the names of your forefathers. Therefore, when any one of you wants to swear an oath, let him swear by the name of Allah, otherwise let him remain silent.
Hadith 4668
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " السَّمْعُ وَالطَّاعَةُ عَلَى الْمَرْءِ فِيمَا أَحَبَّ أَوْ كَرِهَ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْمَرَ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ فَإِنْ أُمِرَ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ فَلَا سَمْعَ وَلَا طَاعَةَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is obligatory upon a person to listen to and obey his leader, whether he likes it or dislikes it, as long as he is not commanded to commit a sin. For if he is commanded to commit a sin, then there is no listening to or obeying anyone at that time."
Hadith 4669
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْنَا السُّورَةَ ، فَيَقْرَأُ السَّجْدَةَ ، فَيَسْجُدُ ، وَنَسْجُدُ مَعَهُ ، حَتَّى مَا يَجِدُ أَحَدُنَا مَكَانًا لِمَوْضِعِ جَبْهَتِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that sometimes the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite a surah before us, and when he recited a verse of prostration in it, he would perform prostration and we would also perform prostration with him, to the extent that some of us would not find space to place our foreheads on the ground.
Hadith 4670
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " صَّلَاةُ فِي الْجَمِيعِ تَزِيدُ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ وَحْدَهُ سَبْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The superiority of prayer in congregation over prayer performed alone is twenty-seven degrees."
Hadith 4671
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْمَنَامِ فِي السَّبْعِ الْأَوَاخِرِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرَاكُمْ قَدْ تَتَابَعْتُمْ فِي السَّبْعِ الْأَوَاخِرِ ، فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي السَّبْعِ الْأَوَاخِرِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that some companions of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw in their dreams that Laylat al-Qadr was in the last seven nights. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I see that your dreams coincide regarding the last seven nights, so seek it in the last seven nights."

عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي
سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ
جُرَيْجٍ أَوْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ
لِابْنِ عُمَرَ أَرْبَعُ خِلَالٍ رَأَيْتُكَ تَصْنَعُهُنَّ ، لَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا يَصْنَعُهُنَّ ؟ قَالَ : مَا هِيَ ؟ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُكَ تَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ النِّعَالَ السِّبْتِيَّةَ ، وَرَأَيْتُكَ تَسْتَلِمُ هَذَيْنِ الرُّكْنَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ لَا تَسْتَلِمُ غَيْرَهُمَا ، وَرَأَيْتُكَ لَا تُهِلُّ حَتَّى تَضَعَ رِجْلَكَ فِي الْغَرْزِ ، وَرَأَيْتُكَ تُصَفِّرُ لِحْيَتَكَ ؟ قَالَ : " أَمَّا لُبْسِي هَذِهِ النِّعَالَ السِّبْتِيَّةَ : فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَلْبَسُهَا ، ويَتَوَضَّأُ فِيهَا ، وَيَسْتَحِبُّهَا ، وَأَمَّا اسْتِلَامُ هَذَيْنِ الرُّكْنَيْنِ : فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَلِمُهُمَا لَا يَسْتَلِمُ غَيْرَهُمَا ، وَأَمَّا تَصْفِيرِي لِحْيَتِي : فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَفِّرُ لِحْيَتَهُ ، وَأَمَّا إِهْلَالِي إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ بِي رَاحِلَتِي : فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا وَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ فِي الْغَرْزِ ، وَاسْتَوَتْ بِهِ رَاحِلَتُهُ أَهَلَّ " .
Jurayj or Ibn Jurayj says that once I said to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), "I see you doing four things which I do not see anyone else doing except you." He asked, "What are those things?" I said, "I see you wearing shoes made of dyed leather; I see that you only perform istilam (touching or kissing) of the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone, and do not perform istilam of any other corner; I see that you do not recite the talbiyah until you have placed your foot in the stirrup; and I see that you dye your beard." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "As for wearing shoes made of dyed leather, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) himself wore such shoes, performed ablution while wearing them, and liked them. As for only kissing the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone, I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performing istilam of only these two corners and not of any other corner. As for dyeing the beard, I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) dyeing his beard as well. And as for reciting the talbiyah and making the intention for ihram while mounted, I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) when he placed his foot in the stirrup, sat upright on his mount, and when the mount stood straight with him, then he would recite the talbiyah."
Hadith 4673
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The slave who worships his Lord well and is also sincere towards his master will receive a double reward."
Hadith 4674

يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا
مَالِكٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي
الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ ، صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، وَإِذَا قَالَ : " سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ " ، قَالَ : " رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ " ، وَلَا يَصْنَعُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to raise his hands to the level of his shoulders at the beginning of the prayer, and he would also raise his hands when going into bowing (ruku‘) and after raising his head from bowing. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), after saying "Sami‘ Allahu liman hamidah," would say "Rabbana wa laka al-hamd." However, between the two prostrations, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not raise his hands.
Hadith 4675
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform any prayers (meaning Sunnah prayers) before or after the obligatory prayers while on a journey.
Hadith 4676
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي
أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ
ابْنَ عُمَرَ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ بِجَمْعٍ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ ؟ فَقَالَ : صَلَّيْتُهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ " .
Abdullah bin Malik says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) led the Maghrib and Isha prayers at Muzdalifah with a single Iqamah. Abdullah bin Malik asked: O Abdur Rahman! What kind of prayer is this? He replied: I have performed these prayers at this place with a single Iqamah along with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 4677
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَكَانَ يَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي كَفَّهُ ، فَاتَّخَذَهُ النَّاسُ ، فَرَمَى بِهِ ، وَاتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a ring made of gold. He would turn its stone towards the palm of his hand. The people also had rings made, upon which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) discarded it and had a ring made of silver.
Hadith 4678
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الرُّؤْيَا جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A good dream is one of the seventy parts of prophethood."
Hadith 4679
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَائِمًا عِنْدَ بَابِ عَائِشَةَ ، فَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ ، فَقَالَ : " الْفِتْنَةُ هَاهُنَا ، حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing at the door of the chamber of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand towards the east and said: "The trial will emerge from here, from where the horn of Satan will appear."
Hadith 4680

عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا مَاتَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ ، جَاءَ ابْنُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَعْطِنِي قَمِيصَكَ حَتَّى أُكَفِّنَهُ فِيهِ ، وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ ، وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُ ، فَأَعْطَاهُ قَمِيصَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " آذِنِّي بِهِ " ، فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ لِيُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ يَعْنِي عُمَرَ : قَدْ نَهَاكَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى الْمُنَافِقِينَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَنَا بَيْنَ خِيرَتَيْنِ اسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ أَوْ لا تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ سورة التوبة آية 80 فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : وَلا تُصَلِّ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ مَاتَ أَبَدًا سورة التوبة آية 84 قَالَ : فَتُرِكَتْ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the chief of the hypocrites, Abdullah bin Ubayy, died, his son—who was a sincere Muslim—came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Please give me your shirt so that I may shroud him in it, and lead his funeral prayer, and also seek forgiveness from Allah for him." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him his shirt and said, "Inform me at the time of the funeral." When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stepped forward to lead the prayer, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "Allah has forbidden you from leading the funeral prayer of the hypocrites." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I have been given a choice regarding two matters: to seek forgiveness or not to seek forgiveness." Thus, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led his funeral prayer. Later, Allah the Exalted revealed the command that for any of them who dies, never perform their funeral prayer. Thus, after that, their funeral prayer was abandoned.
Hadith 4681
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes plant a spear as a sutrah and perform prayer.
Hadith 4682
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " غَيَّرَ اسْمَ عَاصِيَةَ ، قَالَ : أَنْتِ جَمِيلَةُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) changed the name "Asiyah" and in its place gave the name "Jameelah."
Hadith 4683
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي
زَيْدٌ الْعَمِّيُّ ، عَنْ
أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي الذَّيْلِ شِبْرًا ، فَاسْتَزَدْنَهُ ، فَزَادَهُنَّ شِبْرًا آخَرَ ، فَجَعَلْنَهُ ذِرَاعًا " ، فَكُنَّ يُرْسِلْنَ إِلَيْنَا نَذْرَعُ لَهُنَّ ذِرَاعًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Mothers of the Believers were granted permission by the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for a hem of one handspan. They requested an increase in this, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) added another handspan, and the Mothers of the Believers made it one cubit. Then they used to send cloth to us, and we would measure out one cubit and give it to them.
Hadith 4684
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
ابْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي
نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " رَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَحَكَّهَا ، وَخَلَّقَ مَكَانَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw phlegm stuck towards the qiblah side in the mosque. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and cleaned it.
Hadith 4685
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنِ
الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ
أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً ، فَلَا يَنْتَجِي اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا " ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا : فَإِنْ كَانُوا أَرْبَعًا ؟ قَالَ : " فَلَا يَضُرُّ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are three people, then two of you should not whisper to each other excluding the third." We asked: What if there are four? He said: "Then there is no harm."
Hadith 4686
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنِ
ابْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَان " لَا يَدَعُ أَنْ يَسْتَلِمَ الْحَجَرَ وَالرُّكْنَ الْيَمَانِي فِي كُلِّ طَوَافٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not leave touching the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner in any circumambulation.
Hadith 4687
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى ، عَنْ
سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي
ابْنُ دِينَارٍ سَمِعْتُ
ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا أَحَدُكُمْ قَالَ لِأَخِيهِ : يَا كَافِرُ ، فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِهَا أَحَدُهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you calls his brother 'O disbeliever,' then surely one of them returns as a disbeliever."
