It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, a flag will be raised for every deceiver, and it will be announced that this is the deception of so-and-so, son of so-and-so."

Every pride, every blood, and every claim of the time of ignorance is under my two feet, except the office of giving water to the pilgrims and the custodianship of the key of the Sacred House (Ka'bah); I maintain these offices for their holders."

The narrator says that on one occasion, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) continued eating the food even though he could hear the recitation of the Imam.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said (on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage): "Do not become disbelievers after me, striking the necks of one another."

Then Umar drew water, and the bucket became a large bucket in his hand. I have not seen any outstanding person fill a bucket like him, until he gave people enough to drink."

I went to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said to him, "Are you not surprised at Abu Abdur Rahman? He thinks that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared nabidh made in earthenware jars to be forbidden." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "He spoke the truth, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared it forbidden." I asked, "What is meant by 'earthenware jar'?" He replied: "Anything that is made from baked clay."

Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, replied: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that Allah Almighty will bring a believing servant close to Himself and will cover him with His sheet, concealing him from the eyes of the people, and will make him confess his sins and will say to him: Do you remember such and such sins? When he will have confessed all his sins (and will think in his heart that now he is doomed), then Allah Almighty will say to him: I concealed your sins in the world and today I forgive you, then he will be given his book of deeds. As for the disbelievers and hypocrites, the witnesses will say: These are the ones who used to deny their Lord. Behold! The curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.

Upon hearing this, those people turned their faces towards the Ka'bah during the prayer itself.
