Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that some companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), among whom was Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), began to eat meat at the dining spread. One of the noble wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called out and said, "This is the meat of a lizard." Upon hearing this, the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) stopped. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat it, it is lawful and there is no harm in eating it, but it is not something I eat."
