Saeed bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to me, "Is there not an example for you in the person of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) heard a man in another gathering swear by «لا وابي», so he threw pebbles at him and said: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to swear like this, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from this and said that this is shirk (associating partners with Allah).

He said, “Recite it with a ḍammah on the letter ḍād,” and said, “Once I also recited this word in the same way before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as you have recited before me, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) corrected me in the same way as I have corrected you.”

Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this issue, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tell him to take his wife back, then after she becomes pure, he may divorce her, or if she is in a state of pregnancy, he may also divorce her.

Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if, in exchange for this one word «يا اخي», I were given everything upon which the sun rises, that is, the whole world, I would not prefer the whole world over this one word.

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied: "Allah has commanded the fulfillment of vows, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden us from fasting on the Day of Sacrifice (the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah)."
