Hadith 5208
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ : أَمَا لَكَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ ؟ ! كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُوتِرُ عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ " .
Saeed bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to me, "Is there not an example for you in the person of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer Witr prayer on his camel."
Hadith 5209
وَقَرَأْتُهُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 5210
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ جَاءَ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any person comes for Jumu'ah, he should come after performing ghusl (ritual bath)."
Hadith 5211
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَكُمْ نِسَاؤُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ ، فَأْذَنُوا لَهُنَّ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of your wives asks permission to go to the mosque, then grant her permission."
Hadith 5212
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ " خَرَجَ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ ، فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا ، فَذَكَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) went out of his house on the day of Eid. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not offer any voluntary prayer before or after the Eid prayer, and he explained that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also did the same.
Hadith 5213
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَنْظَلَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ " الصَّلَاةِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، فَقَالَ : رَكْعَتَانِ " سُنَّةُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Abu Hanzalah says that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the prayer during travel. He replied: "The prayer during travel is two rak'ahs, and this is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him)."
Hadith 5214
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرَ ، وَعُثْمَانَ صَدْرًا مِنْ إِمَارَتِهِ ، صَلَّوْا بِمِنًى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the two Shaykhs (may Allah be pleased with them), and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) in the early period of his caliphate, performed two rak‘ahs in the plain of Mina.
Hadith 5215
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَرَأَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ وَالرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ بِضْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ مَرَّةً ، أَوْ بِضْعَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً : قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ ، وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) must have recited Surah Al-Kafiroon and Surah Al-Ikhlas dozens or tens of times in the Sunnah prayers before Fajr and in the two Sunnah prayers after Maghrib.
Hadith 5216
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْوَتْرِ : أَوَاجِبٌ هُوَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْمُسْلِمُونَ " .
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a man asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about Witr, whether it is obligatory. He replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and all the Muslims have offered Witr.
Hadith 5217
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ ، وَأَنَا بَيْنَ السَّائِلِ وَبَيْنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِرَكْعَةٍ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ جَاءَه عِنْدَ قَرْنِ الْحَوْلِ ، وَأَنَا بِذَاكَ الْمَنْزِلِ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ السَّائِلِ ، فَسَأَلَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِرَكْعَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the night prayer. At that time, I was between the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the questioner. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should pray two rak'ahs at a time, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak'ah as witr to those two." A year later, that man again came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); this time too, I was between the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and him. He asked the same question, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him the same answer.
Hadith 5218
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يَأْتِي قُبَاءَ وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ رَاكِبًا وَمَاشِيًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to come to the Quba Mosque both on foot and riding.
Hadith 5219
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 5220
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَا فِئَةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am equal to a group of Muslims."
Hadith 5221
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا لَقُوكُمْ ، قَالُوا : السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ ، فَقُولُوا : وَعَلَيْكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the Jews meet you, they say «السام عليكم», so you should reply by saying «وعليكم» (death be upon you)."
Hadith 5222
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي حَلْقَةٍ ، فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا فِي حَلْقَةٍ أُخْرَى ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : لَا وَأبي ، فرماه ابن عمر بالحصى ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ يَمِينَ عُمَرَ ، فَنَهَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهَا ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّهَا شِرْكٌ " .
Sa’d bin Ubaidah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I was sitting in a gathering with Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them). Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) heard a man in another gathering swear by «لا وابي», so he threw pebbles at him and said: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to swear like this, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from this and said that this is shirk (associating partners with Allah).
Hadith 5223
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ النَّجْرَانِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَكْرَانَ ، فَضَرَبَهُ الْحَدَّ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " مَا شَرَابُكَ ؟ " فَقَالَ : زَبِيبٌ وَتَمْرٌ ، فَقَالَ : " لَا تَخْلِطْهُمَا ، يَكْفِي كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا مِنْ صَاحِبِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a man who was intoxicated was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He admitted to drinking wine made from raisins and dates. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed the hadd punishment for him and forbade combining the two, because each of them suffices in place of the other.
Hadith 5224
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : " نَهَى النبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الدُّبَّاءِ ، وَالْحَنْتَمِ ، وَالْمُزَفَّتِ " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : وَأُرَاهُ قَالَ : وَالنَّقِيرِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (the use of) dubba’, hantam, and muzaffat. The narrator is doubtful about the word naqir.
Hadith 5225
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُعَذَّبِينَ أَصْحَابِ الْحِجْرِ ، إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ فَلَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ ، أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمْ مَا أَصَابَهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Enter the lands of the punished nations weeping; if you are not able to weep, then do not go there, for I fear that the same punishment may befall you as befell them."
Hadith 5226
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَفَاتِيحُ الْغَيْبِ خَمْسٌ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا إِلَّا اللَّهُ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ سورة لقمان آية 34 " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are five matters of the unseen which none knows except Allah (then he recited this verse): Surely, the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah alone, He sends down the rain, He knows what is in the wombs, no person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in which land he will die. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware."
Hadith 5227
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ فُضَيْلٍ ، وَيَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ : اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ ضَعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا سورة الروم آية 54 ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ ضَعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا سورة الروم آية 54 ، ثُمّ قَالَ : " قَرَأْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا قَرَأْتَ عَلَيَّ ، فَأَخَذَ عَلَيَّ كَمَا أَخَذْتُ عَلَيْكَ " .
Atiyyah Awfi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I recited the word «ضعف» in the Qur’anic verse «الله الذى خلقكم من ضعف» with a fathah on the letter ḍād in the presence of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). He said, “Recite it with a ḍammah on the letter ḍād,” and said, “Once I also recited this word in the same way before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as you have recited before me, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) corrected me in the same way as I have corrected you.”
Hadith 5228
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ فِي الْحَيْضِ ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " مُرْهُ فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا ، ثُمَّ لِيُطَلِّقْهَا وَهِيَ طَاهِرٌ أَوْ حَامِلٌ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) gave his wife one divorce while she was in her menstrual period. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this issue, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tell him to take his wife back, then after she becomes pure, he may divorce her, or if she is in a state of pregnancy, he may also divorce her.
Hadith 5229
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ اسْتَأْذَنَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْعُمْرَةِ ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَخِي ، " أَشْرِكْنَا فِي صَالِحِ دُعَائِكَ ، وَلَا تَنْسَنَا " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي بِهَا مَا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) once sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to perform Umrah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission and said: "Brother! Do not forget to remember us in your righteous prayers." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if, in exchange for this one word «يا اخي», I were given everything upon which the sun rises, that is, the whole world, I would not prefer the whole world over this one word.
Hadith 5230
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ نَهَارًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah during the daytime.
Hadith 5231
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يَدْخُلُ مِنَ الثَّنِيَّةِ الْعُلْيَا ، وَيَخْرُجُ مِنَ السُّفْلَى " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter Makkah, he would enter from «ثنيه عليا» and when he would leave, he would leave from «ثنيه سفلي».
Hadith 5232
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، سَمِعَهُ مِنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَقْبَلَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ ، فَتَكَلَّمَا ، أَوْ تَكَلَّمَ أَحَدُهُمَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا " ، أَوْ " إِنَّ الْبَيَانَ سِحْرٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that two men from the east came to the presence of the Messenger, and when they spoke (people were amazed at the fluency and eloquence of their speech), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some speech has the effect of magic."
Hadith 5233
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا وَضَعْتُمْ مَوْتَاكُمْ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ ، فَقُولُوا : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ ، وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you lower your dead into the grave, say «بسم الله وعلي سنة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم»."
Hadith 5234
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يُعْرَضُ عَلَى ابْنِ آدَمَ مَقْعَدُهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ غُدْوَةً وَعَشِيَّةً فِي قَبْرِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Morning and evening, the abode of the son of Adam is presented to him in the grave; if he is among the people of Paradise, then the abode of the people of Paradise is shown to him, and if he is among the people of Hell, then the abode of the people of Hell is shown to him."
Hadith 5235
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ ابْتَاعَ طَعَامًا ، فَلَا يَبِعْهُ حَتَّى يَقْبِضَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever buys grain should not sell it before taking possession of it."
Hadith 5236
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ النَّجْرَانِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ تَبَايَعَا عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَخْلًا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الثَّمَرَةُ ، فَلَمْ تُطْلِعْ شَيْئًا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَى أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَأْكُلُ مَالَهُ ؟ ! " وَنَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), two men made a sale of fruit before it had come forth, but that year the fruit did not come at all. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why are you withholding his money?" After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Salam until the fruit ripened.
Hadith 5237
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا اشْتَرَيْتَ الذَّهَبَ بِالْفِضَّةِ ، أَوْ أَحَدَهُمَا بِالْآخَرِ ، فَلَا يُفَارِقْكَ وَبَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ لَبْسٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When you exchange gold for silver or either of these things, do not separate from your companion as long as there is even the slightest doubt between you and him.
Hadith 5238
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الْعُمَرِيِّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ " رَمَلَ مِنَ الْحَجَرِ إِلَى الْحَجَرِ ثَلَاثًا ، وَمَشَى أَرْبَعًا ، وَصَلَّى عِنْدَ الْمَقَامِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَهُ " .
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) performed ramal (brisk walking) from the Black Stone to the Black Stone in the first three circuits of tawaf, and walked at a normal pace in the remaining four circuits, and offered two rak'ahs near Maqam Ibrahim. Then he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had done the same.
Hadith 5239
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : مَا تَرَكْتُ اسْتِلَامَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ فِي شِدَّةٍ وَلَا رَخَاءٍ مُنْذُ " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَلِمُهُمَا : الْحَجَرَ وَالرُّكْنَ الْيَمَانِيَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) touching the Black Stone, so I will continue to touch it regardless of any hardship or ease.
Hadith 5240
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بِمِنًي ، قَالَ : هَلْ سَمِعْتَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، وَآمَنْتُ بِهِ ، قَالَ : فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ " يُصَلِّي بِمِنًي رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
Dawud bin Abi Asim Thaqafi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the prayer in Mina, so he said: Have you heard the name of the Prophet (peace be upon him)? I said, Yes! I have believed in him and have come to the right path. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Then he used to pray two rak'ahs in Mina.
Hadith 5241
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ " صَلَّاهُمَا بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ، فَقَالَ : هَكَذَا صَنَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَا فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) performed the Maghrib and Isha prayers (at Muzdalifah) with a single iqamah and said that at this place, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did the same with us.
Hadith 5242
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ فَرْقَدٍ السَّبَخِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يَدَّهِنُ بِالزَّيْتِ غَيْرِ الْمُقَتَّتِ عِنْدَ الْإِحْرَامِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter into the state of Ihram, he would use olive oil in which flowers had been added but had not been boiled.
Hadith 5243
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَعَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَلْبَسُ الْمُحْرِمُ ثَوْبًا مَسَّهُ وَرْسٌ وَلَا زَعْفَرَانٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A Muhrim should not wear clothes dyed with wars or saffron."
Hadith 5244
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَلْبَسَ الْمُحْرِمُ ثَوْبًا مَسَّهُ وَرْسٌ أَوْ زَعْفَرَانٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the Muhrim from wearing clothes dyed with wars or saffron.
Hadith 5245
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ نَذَرَ أَنْ يَصُومَ يَوْمًا ، فَوَافَقَ يَوْمَئِذٍ عِيدَ أَضْحَى أَوْ يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : " أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِوَفَاءِ النَّذْرِ ، وَنَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ " .
Ziyad bin Jubair says that I saw a man come to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and ask this question: "I have made a vow that I will fast on such-and-such a day. Now, if that day happens to be Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Fitr, what should I do?" Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied: "Allah has commanded the fulfillment of vows, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden us from fasting on the Day of Sacrifice (the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah)."
Hadith 5246
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْرُنَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْنَ التَّمْرَتَيْنِ حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنَ أَصْحَابَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating two dates together without the permission of one's companions.
Hadith 5247
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى قَوْمٍ نَصَبُوا دَجَاجَةً يَرْمُونَهَا بِالنَّبْلِ ، فَقَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُمَثَّلَ بِالْبَهِيمَةِ " .
Saeed bin Jubair says that once, on a road in Madinah Munawwarah, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) passed by some people and saw that they had tied up a chicken and were practicing their aim on it. Upon this, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade mutilating animals.
