Hadith 5048
حَدَّثَنَاه حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ مَوْلَى آلِ عُمَرَ ، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 5049
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، وَيُوتِرُ بِرَكْعَةٍ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray in sets of two rak‘ahs, then in the last part of the night he would add one rak‘ah to them and thus perform (three) witr.
Hadith 5050
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، وَحَجَّاجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ مُسْلِمَ بْنَ يَنَّاقٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ ، فَقَالَ : مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ ؟ فَانْتَسَبَ لَهُ ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِى لَيْثٍ ، فَعَرَفَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأُذُنَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ لَا يُرِيدُ بِذَلِكَ إِلَّا الْمَخِيلَةَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى لَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
Muslim bin Yanaq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saw a man dragging his lower garment. He asked him, "Where are you from?" The man mentioned his lineage, and it became clear that he was from Banu Laith, and Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) recognized him. Then he said, "I heard with my own two ears the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Whoever drags his clothes on the ground out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him with mercy on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 5051
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ فِرَاسٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ذَكْوَانَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ زَاذَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ ضَرَبَ غُلَامًا لَهُ حَدًّا لَمْ يَأْتِهِ ، أَوْ لَطَمَهُ ، فَإِنَّ كَفَّارَتَهُ أَنْ يُعْتِقَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever punishes his slave for a crime he did not commit, or slaps him, its expiation is that he should set him free.
Hadith 5052
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ تَوْبَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُوَرِّقًا الْعِجْلِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، أَوْ هُوَ سَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ : " هَلْ تُصَلِّي الضُّحَى ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ عُمَرُ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ؟ فَقَالَ : أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؟ فَقَالَ : فَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : لَا إِِِخَالُ " .
Muraq ‘Ajli (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): Do you perform the Duha prayer? He said, No! I asked: Did Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) perform it? He replied: No! I asked: Did Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) perform it? He replied: No! I asked: Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform it? He replied: I do not think so.
Hadith 5053
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، وَحَجَّاجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى فِي الْبَيْتِ " وَسَتَأْتُونَ مَنْ يَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ ، فَتَسْمَعُونَ مِنْهُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ : فَتَسْمَعُونَ مِنْ قَوْلِهِ ، قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ : وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ جَالِسٌ قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ .
Simak Hanafi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed inside the Ka'bah, but now you will go to a person and hear his words who will deny this; he meant Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who was sitting nearby.
Hadith 5054
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، سَمِعْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى أَبَاهُ " يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا كَبَّرَ ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ؟ فَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُهُ " .
It is narrated from Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) that he saw his father raising his hands to the level of his shoulders at the beginning of the prayer, and also raising his hands when going into bowing (ruku‘) and after raising his head from bowing. I asked him about this, and he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do the same.
Hadith 5055
(حديث مرفوع) قال عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد : وَجَدْتُ هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِه ، وَهُوَ إِلَى حَدِيثِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبًا مِنْ ثِيَابِهِ مَخِيلَةً لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drags his clothes on the ground out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him with mercy on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 5056
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، تُصِيبُنِي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ الْجَنَابَةُ ؟ فَقَالَ : " اغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأْ ، ثُمَّ ارْقُدْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! If I become impure at night and wish to sleep before performing ghusl, what should I do? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wash your private parts, perform ablution as you do for prayer, and then go to sleep."
Hadith 5057
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ مَخِيلَةً ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى لَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drags his clothes on the ground out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him with mercy on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 5058
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنِ الضَّبِّ ، قَالَ : " لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the lizard. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not eat it, nor do I declare it unlawful."
Hadith 5059
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " وَقَّتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ ، وَلِأَهْلِ الشَّامِ الْجُحْفَةَ ، وَلِأَهْلِ نَجْدٍ قَرْنًا " ، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : وَنُبِّئْتُ أَنَّهُ وَقَّتَ لِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ يَلَمْلَمَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed Dhu’l-Hulayfah as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Sham, Qarn for the people of Najd. I have been informed that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed Yalamlam as the miqat for the people of Yemen.
Hadith 5060
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ أَوْ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits before they ripen.
Hadith 5061
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits before they ripen.
Hadith 5062
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ وَجَّهَتْ ، وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to offer voluntary prayers on his mount, regardless of which direction it was facing, and he used to say that he had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) doing the same.
Hadith 5063
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ يَرْزُقُنَا التَّمْرَ ، وَبِالنَّاسِ يَوْمَئِذٍ جَهْدٌ ، قَالَ : فَمَرَّ بِنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، فَنَهَانَا عَنِ الْإِقْرَانِ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ الْإِقْرَانِ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنَ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ " .
Jabalah says that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give us dates to eat. In those days, people were facing extreme hardships. One day, we were eating dates when Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) passed by us and said: "Do not eat several dates at once, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating several dates at once without your brother’s permission."
Hadith 5064
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ اشْتَرَى طَعَامًا ، فَلَا يَبِيعُهُ حَتَّى يَقْبِضَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever buys grain should not sell it before taking possession of it."
Hadith 5065
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخبرنا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ يَعْنِي الْحَنَفِيَّ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْبَيْتِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
Samak Hanafi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed two rak'ahs of prayer inside the House of Allah (the Ka'bah).
Hadith 5066
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَحَجَّاجٌ ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، وَقَالَ حَجَّاجٌ : حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى فِي الْبَيْتِ " ، وَسَتَأْتُونَ مَنْ يَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ .

Hadith 5067
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ نَجْرَانَ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا أَسْأَلُكَ عَنِ اثْنَتَيْنِ : عَنِ الزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ ، وَعَنِ السَّلَمِ فِي النَّخْلِ ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ سَكْرَانَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا شَرِبْتُ زَبِيبًا وَتَمْرًا ، قَالَ : فَجَلَدَهُ الْحَدَّ ، وَنَهَى عَنْهُمَا أَنْ يُجْمَعَا ، قَالَ : وَأَسْلَمَ رَجُلٌ فِي نَخْلٍ لِرَجُلٍ ، فَقَالَ : لَمْ تَحْمِلْ نَخْلُهُ ذَلِكَ الْعَامَ ، فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ دَرَاهِمَهُ ، فَلَمْ يُعْطِهِ ، فَأَتَى بِهِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " لَمْ تَحْمِلْ نَخْلُهُ ؟ " قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : " فَفِيمَ تَحْبِسُ دَرَاهِمَهُ ؟ ! " ، قَالَ : فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : وَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ السَّلَمِ فِي النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهُ .
A man from Najran asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) a question, saying: "I want to ask you about two things: one about raisins and dates, and the other about advance sale (salam) in date palm trees." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Once, a man who was drunk was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He admitted to drinking wine made from raisins and dates. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed the legal punishment for him and forbade combining the two (raisins and dates in making wine). Also, a man made an advance sale (salam) for dates on another man's trees, but that year the trees bore no fruit. When he wanted to take his money back, the other refused. The man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who asked the owner of the trees: 'Did your trees not bear fruit?' He replied, 'No.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Then why are you withholding his money?' So he returned his money to him. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade advance sale (salam) in fruits until they ripen."
Hadith 5068
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنِ الضَّبِّ ، فَقَالَ : " لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the lizard. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not eat it, nor do I declare it unlawful."
Hadith 5069
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ : سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْعُمْرَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَجِّ ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : لَا بَأْسَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ يَعْتَمِرُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَحُجَّ ، قَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : " اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَحُجَّ " .
Ikrimah bin Khalid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about performing Umrah before Hajj, so he replied that there is no harm for anyone in performing Umrah before Hajj. He also said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also performed Umrah before Hajj.
Hadith 5070
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَامَ رَجُلٌ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مِنْ أَيْنَ تَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُهِلَّ ؟ قَالَ : " مُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ ، وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ ، وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ " ، قَالَ لِي نَافِعٌ : وَقَالَ لِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ : وَزَعَمُوا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ " ، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ لَا أَذْكُرُ ذَلِكَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man stood in the Prophet’s Mosque and asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), “O Messenger of Allah! From where do you command us to enter into Ihram?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “For the people of Madinah, it is Dhu’l-Hulayfah; for the people of Sham, it is Juhfah; and for the people of Najd, it is Qarn (al-Manazil).” Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that later people also said that the Miqat for the people of Yemen is Yalamlam, but I do not remember this.
Hadith 5071
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ ، وَالْمُلْكَ ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ " ، قَالَ نَافِعٌ : وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : وَزِدْتُ أَنَا لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ ، وَالْخَيْرُ فِي يَدَيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْعَمَلُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was: "Here I am, O Allah! Here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. All praise and all blessings are for You, and the sovereignty is Yours, You have no partner." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to add to this: "Here I am, here I am, I have come to serve You. All kinds of goodness are in Your hands. Here I am. All desires and actions are for You."
Hadith 5072
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخبرنا حَنْظَلَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ : " هَلْ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ " .
Tawoos says that a man asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbid nabidh (fermented drink) made in gourds and pumpkins?" He replied, "Yes." Tawoos says, "I myself heard this."
Hadith 5073
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا ، إِلَّا ضَارِيًا أَوْ كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog that is neither for guarding livestock nor a hunting dog, then two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day."
Hadith 5074
(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، فَقُلْتُ : " أَنُهِيَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ ؟ فَقَالَ : قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ ، فَقُلْتُ : مَنْ زَعَمَ ذَاكَ ، النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ " ، قَالَ : فَصَرَفَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ ، وَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمْ إِذَا سُئِلَ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ غَضِبَ ثُمَّ هَمَّ بِصَاحِبِهِ .
Thabit Banani, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, whether the use of nabidh (fermented drink) in earthen pots was prohibited. He replied: "That is what they say." I asked: "Who says this?" He replied: "That is what they say." I asked again: "Is it the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied: "That is what they say." I repeated the same question, and he gave the same answer. Allah saved me from him that day, because whenever someone would ask him, "Did you really hear this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" he would become angry and turn his attention to that person.
Hadith 5075
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ ، فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ ، وَلْيَشُقَّهُمَا ، أَوْ لِيَقْطَعْهُمَا ، أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not find shoes should wear leather socks after cutting them below the ankles.
Hadith 5076
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ " نَهَى عَنْ الْوَرْسِ وَالزَّعْفَرَانِ " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : فَقُلْتُ : أَنَا لِلْمُحْرِمِ ؟ فَقَالَ : نَعَمْ .
Abdullah bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I once heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrate this hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) forbade (the use of) wars and saffron. I asked: For the one in ihram? He replied: Yes.
Hadith 5077
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِذَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ لِأَخِيهِ : أَنْتَ كَافِرٌ أَوْ يَا كَافِرُ فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِهَا أَحَدُهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person calls his brother 'O disbeliever,' then surely one of them returns as a disbeliever."
Hadith 5078
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ وَثَّابٍ ، سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ " الْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : أَمَرَنَا بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Yahya bin Wathab says that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the Ghusl (ritual bath) of Jumu'ah: so he replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us regarding it.
Hadith 5079
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّاةِ الْعَائِرَةِ بَيْنَ الْغَنَمَيْنِ ، تَعِيرُ إِلَى هَذِهِ مَرَّةً ، وَإِلَى هَذِهِ مَرَّةً ، لَا تَدْرِي أَهَذِهِ تَتْبَعُ أَمْ هَذِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of a hypocrite is like that of a goat between two flocks; sometimes it goes to one flock and sometimes to the other, and it does not know to which flock it belongs."
Hadith 5080
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ ، فَقَالَ : " حَجَجْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَصُمْهُ ، وَحَجَجْتُ مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَلَمْ يَصُمْهُ ، وَحَجَجْتُ مَعَ عُمَرَ فَلَمْ يَصُمْهُ ، وَحَجَجْتُ مَعَ عُثْمَانَ فَلَمْ يَصُمْهُ ، وَأَنَا لَا أَصُومُهُ ، وَلَا آمُرُ بِهِ ، وَلَا أَنْهَى عَنْهُ " ، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً ، عَمَّنْ سَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ .
Abu Najih says that once someone asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about fasting on the day of Arafah. He replied: I performed Hajj with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but he did not fast on that day. I performed Hajj with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), but they also did not fast on that day. I neither fast on that day nor do I command it nor prohibit it.
Hadith 5081
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ ، وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raising his hands to the level of his shoulders at the beginning of the prayer, and I also saw him raising his hands when going into bowing (ruku‘) and after raising his head from bowing, but between the two prostrations the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not raise his hands.
Hadith 5082
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ " إِذَا دَخَلَ أَدْنَى الْحَرَمِ أَمْسَكَ عَنِ التَّلْبِيَةِ ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي ذَا طُوًى ، فَيَبِيتُ بِهِ ، وَيُصَلِّي بِهِ صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ ، وَيَغْتَسِلُ ، وَيُحَدِّثُ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ " .
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would reach the area near the Haram, he would stop reciting the Talbiyah. When he reached the place of Dhi Tuwa, he would spend the night there, and after morning came, he would perform the Fajr prayer, take a bath, and would state that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do the same.
Hadith 5083
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you comes for Jumu'ah, he should come after performing ghusl (ritual bath)."
Hadith 5084
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الَّذِي يَفُوتُهُ الْعَصْرُ ، كَأَنَّمَا وُتِرَ أَهْلَهُ وَمَالَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever misses the Asr prayer, it is as if his family and wealth have been destroyed."
Hadith 5085
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : نَادَى رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ تَأْمُرُنَا نُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ؟ قَالَ : " يُصَلِّي أَحَدُكُمْ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خَشِيَ الصُّبْحَ يُصَلِّي وَاحِدَةً ، فَأَوْتَرَتْ لَهُ مَا قَدْ صَلَّى " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! What do you command us regarding the night prayer?" He replied: "You should pray in pairs of two rak‘ahs, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak‘ah to those two. That will suffice as witr for all the prayers you have offered during the night."
Hadith 5086
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ تَلْبِيَةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was: «لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ» I am present, O Allah! I am present, I am present, You have no partner, I am present, all praise and all blessings are for You, and sovereignty is also Yours, You have no partner.
Hadith 5087
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مِنْ أَيْنَ نُهِلُّ ؟ قَالَ : " يُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ ، وَأَهْلُ الشام مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ ، وَأَهْلُ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ " ، قَالَ : وَيَقُولُونَ : وَأَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man stood in the Prophet’s Mosque and asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), “O Messenger of Allah! From where do you command us to enter into Ihram?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “For the people of Madinah, it is Dhu’l-Hulayfah; for the people of Sham, it is Juhfah; and for the people of Najd, it is Qarn (al-Manazil).” Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that later people also said that the Miqat for the people of Yemen is Yalamlam, but I do not remember this.
