The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! Will we go to the plain of Mina in such a state that drops of the water of life (i.e., semen) are dripping from our private parts?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" Then incense burners began to emit fragrance. Meanwhile, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) also arrived from Yemen. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "With what intention did you assume Ihram?" He replied, "With the intention that whatever Ihram the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has, that is my Ihram as well." Ruh says further that we have your sacrificial animals with us. Humaid says, "I narrated this hadith to Tawus, and he said, 'The people did the same.'" And Affan says that further on it is mentioned: "Make it the Ihram of Umrah."

What clothing can a person in the state of ihram wear?" Or he asked: "What clothing should a person in ihram avoid?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He cannot wear a shirt, trousers, turban, or leather socks, unless he does not find shoes. Whoever does not find shoes should cut the leather socks below the ankles and wear them.
