حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضَةِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ، فَقَالَ: «تَقْرِضُهُ بِالْمَاءِ، ثُمَّ تَنْضَحُهُ وَتُصَلِّي فِيهِ»
Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about menstrual blood that gets on a garment, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rub it with water, then sprinkle it and pray in it."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِحْدَانَا إِذَا أَصَابَ ثَوْبَهَا الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ: «إِذَا أَصَابَ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ فَلْتَقْرِضْهُ، ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ بِالْمَاءِ، ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ»
Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A woman asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); she said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell us, if menstrual blood gets on the garment of one of us, what should she do? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When menstrual blood gets on one of you, let her scrape it off, then wash it with water, then pray."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ، يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ: «حُتِّيهِ، ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ، ثُمَّ انْضَحِيهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about menstrual blood that gets on a garment, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Scrape it off, then rub it with water, then sprinkle it."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ: «حُتِّيهِ ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ انْضَحِيهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about menstrual blood that gets on a garment, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Scrape it off, then rub it with water, then sprinkle it."

Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A woman asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: If menstrual blood gets on the garment of one of us, what should she do? حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَةٌ فَسَأَلَتْهُ عَنِ الْحَيْضِ يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَ إِحْدَانَا قَالَ: «خُذِيهِ فَحُتِّيهِ، ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ، وَانْضَحِي بَقِيَّةَ ثَوْبِكِ»
Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him what one of us should do if menstrual blood gets on her garment. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take hold of it and scrape it off, then rub it, and sprinkle the rest of your garment."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، قَالَتْ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضَةِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ: «حُتِّيهِ ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ انْضَحِيهِ وَصَلِّى فِيهِ»

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that a woman asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) what one of us should do if menstrual blood gets on her garment. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let her scrape it off, then rub it with water, then pray in it."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الصَّوَّافُ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَزِيعٍ، عَنْ رَوْحِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِحْدَانَا تَحِيضُ فِي ثَوْبِهَا وَتَرَى الدَّمَ فَقَالَ: «إِذَا رَأَتْ إِحْدَاكُنَّ ذَلِكَ فِي ثَوْبِهَا فَلْتَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ ولْتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! If one of us menstruates in her garment and sees the blood, what should she do? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you sees that in her garment, let her rub it with water, then sprinkle it, then pray in it."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، كِلَاهُمَا، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ ، بَابٌ
A similar hadith is also narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her).
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَالثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: «نَحَرْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَسًا فَأَكَلْنَا لَحْمَهُ»
Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "We slaughtered a horse in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and ate its meat."

Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) we had a horse; we slaughtered it and ate its meat."
حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: «كَانَ لَنَا فَرَسٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَبَحْنَاهُ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ»
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) we had a horse; we slaughtered it and ate it."

Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "We were in Madinah when, in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we slaughtered a horse and ate it."

Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) we slaughtered a horse and ate it."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: «أَكَلْنَا لَحْمَ فَرَسٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) we ate the meat of a horse."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْخَيَّاطُ الرَّامَهُرْمُزِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمُرِّيُّ، ثنا الْمِنْهَالُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الْبَهِيِّ، مَوْلَى الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: «كَانَ لَنَا فَرَسٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَبَحْنَاهُ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ» بَابٌ
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) we had a horse; we slaughtered it and ate it."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ جَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا أَنْكَحْنا جُوَيْرِيَةً لَنَا، وَكَانَتْ مَرِيضَةً فَتَمَزَّقَ شَعْرُ رَأْسِهَا أَفَنَصِلُهَا؟ فَقَالَ: «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that a woman of the Ansar came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! We have married off a girl of ours; she fell ill and as a result the hair of her head fell out. May we attach artificial hair to it? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah curse the woman who attaches hair extensions and the woman who has them attached."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about attaching hair, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the woman who attaches hair extensions and the woman who has them attached.

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَا: ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ ابْنَتِي عَرُوسٌ وَقَدْ أَصَابَتْهَا هَذِهِ الْقُرْحَةُ، فَتَمَزَّقَ شَعْرُهَا أَفَأَصِلُ لَهَا قَصَّةً؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! My daughter is a bride, and this sore has afflicted her, as a result of which her hair has fallen out. May I attach an artificial lock for her? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah curse the woman who attaches hair extensions and the woman who has them attached."

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: " كُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فِي حُجْرَتِهَا، وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ، فَقَالَتْ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا، قُلْتُ: آيَةٌ؟ قَالَتْ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا تَحْكِي أَيْ نَعَمْ " وَأَوْمَأَ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ بِرَأْسِهِ
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The sun was eclipsed in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so I went in to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) in her chamber while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading the people in prayer. I said: O Aishah! What is the matter with the people? She said: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah), and pointed with her hand. I asked: Is it a sign? She said: Subhan Allah, and indicated with her head, meaning yes." (The narrator Abu al-Nu'man also demonstrated by gesturing with his head.)
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، وَمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَإِذَا النَّاسُ قِيَامٌ يُصَلُّونَ، فَإِذَا هِيَ قَائِمَةٌ فَقُلْتُ: مَا لِلنَّاسِ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، وَقَالَتْ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، فَقُلْتُ: آيَةٌ؟ وَأَشَارَتْ أَيْ نَعَمْ، قَالَتْ: فَقُمْتُ حَتَّى جَاءَنِي الْغَشْيُ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَصُبُّ فَوْقَ رَأْسِي الْمَاءَ، فَحَمِدَ اللهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ كُنْتُ لَمْ أَرَهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا، حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، فَإِنَّهُ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ مِثْلَ - أَوْ قَرِيبًا مِنْ - فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ - لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ - يُؤْتَى أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُقَالُ مَا عِلْمُكَ بِهَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟ فَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنُ - أَوِ الْمُوقِنُ، لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ - فَيَقُولُ: مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى فَأَجَبْنَا، وَآمَنَّا، وَاتَّبَعْنَا، فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: نَمْ صَالِحًا، قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنْ كُنْتَ لَمُؤْمِنًا، وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ - أَوِ الْمُرْتَابُ، لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ - فَيَقُولُ: لَا أَدْرِي سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ شَيْئًا فَقُلْتُهُ "
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I came to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when the sun was eclipsed, and the people were standing in prayer, and she too was standing. I asked: What is the matter with the people? She pointed with her hand towards the sky and said: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah). I asked: Is it a sign? She indicated: yes. I stood until I began to faint, so I started pouring water over my head. (After finishing the prayer) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praised Allah, then said: "There was nothing that I had not seen before except that I have seen it in this place of mine, even Paradise and Hell. And it has been revealed to me that you will be tried in your graves like - or close to - the trial of the Dajjal - the narrator does not remember with which word he said it. Each one of you will be approached and it will be said: What do you know about this man? As for the believer - or the one with certainty, the narrator does not remember which word it was - he will say: Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; he came to us with clear proofs and guidance, so we responded, believed and followed. Then it will be said to him: Sleep in goodness; we knew that you were indeed a believer. And as for the hypocrite - or the doubter, the narrator does not remember which word it was - he will say: I do not know anything; I heard the people saying something, so I said the same."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: خُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، فَقُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ: مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ؟ فَقَالَتْ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَأَوْمَأَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَقُلْتُ: آيَةٌ؟ فَأَوْمَأَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَيْ نَعَمْ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَطَالَ الْقِيَامَ حَتَّى أَخَذَنِي دَوَارٌ، فَدَنَوْتُ مِنَ الْقِرْبَةِ فَفَتَحْتُ رَأْسَهَا فَجَعَلْتُ أُصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي، فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى تَجَلَّتِ الشَّمْسُ، وَلَغَطَ نِسْوَةٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَجَعَلْتُ أُسْكِتُهُنَّ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا عَائِشَةُ، مَا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: حَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ لَمْ أَكُنْ رَأَيْتُهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي قُبُورِكُمْ قَرِيبًا - أَوْ مِثْلَ - فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ، يُؤْتَى أَحَدُكُمْ فِي قَبْرِهِ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: مَا تَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي كَانَ فِيكُمْ؟ فَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنُ فَيَقُولُ: هُوَ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى فَأَجَبْنَا، وَاتَّبَعْنَا فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ تَقُولُ ذَلِكَ فَنَمْ صَالِحًا، وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ الْمُرْتَابُ فَيَقُولُ: لَا أَدْرِي فَيُقَالُ لَا دَرَيْتَ فَيُغْلَظُ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ "
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The sun was eclipsed in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so I entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading the people in prayer. I asked Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): What is the matter with the people? She said: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah), and pointed with her head towards the sky. I asked: Is it a sign? She indicated with her head: yes. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and prolonged the standing until I began to feel dizzy, so I went near the waterskin, opened its mouth and started pouring water over my head. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) continued the prayer until the sun cleared, and some women of the Ansar began to make noise, and I kept quietening them. I asked: O Aishah! What did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do? She said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: "Amma ba'd (to proceed): There was nothing that I had not seen before except that I have seen it in this place of mine, even Paradise and Hell. And it has been revealed to me that you will be put to trial in your graves close to - or like - the trial of the Dajjal. Each one of you will be approached in his grave, and it will be said to him: What do you say about this man who was among you? The believer will say: This is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah; he came to us with clear proofs and guidance, so we responded and followed. Then it will be said to him: We knew that you used to say this, so sleep in goodness. And the doubting hypocrite will say: I do not know. Then it will be said to him: May you never know! And he will be dealt with harshly in his grave."
حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ قِيَامٌ، وَإِذَا هِيَ تُصَلِّي فَقُلْتُ: مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَقَالَتْ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، فَقُلْتُ: آيَةٌ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَيْ نَعَمْ، قَالَتْ: فَقُمْتُ حَتَّى تَجَلَّانِي الْغَشْيُ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي الْمَاءَ، قَالَتْ: فَحَمِدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَأثْنَى عَلَيْهِ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ، وَقَالَ: " مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ لَمْ أَكُنْ رَأَيْتُهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَى أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ مِثْلَ - أَوْ قَرِيبًا لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ - مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، يُؤْتَى أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: مَا عِلْمُكَ بِهَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟ فَالْمُؤْمِنُ - أَوِ الْمُوقِنُ، لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ - فَيَقُولُ: هُوَ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى، فَأَجَبْنَا وَاتَّبَعْنَا، فَيُقَالُ: قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنْ كُنْتَ لَمُؤْمِنًا بِهِ يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ - أَوِ الْمُرْتَابُ، لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ - فَيَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ شَيْئًا فَقُلْتُ "

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، كُلُّهُمْ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ قِيَامٌ، وَإِذَا هِيَ تُصَلِّي، فَقُلْتُ: مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا نَحْوَ السَّمَاءِ، وَقَالَتْ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، فَقُلْتُ: آيَةٌ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَيْ نَعَمْ، فَقُمْتُ حَتَّى تَجَلَّانِي الْغَشْيُ، وَجَعَلْتُ أَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي مِنَ الْمَاءِ، قَالَتْ: فَحَمِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ بِمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ، وَقَالَ: " مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ أُرِيتُهُ إِلَّا رَأيَتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، وَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ مِثْلَ - أَوْ قَرِيبًا، لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ - مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، يُؤْتَىأَحَدُكُمْ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ: مَا عِلْمُكَ بِهَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟ فَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنُ فَيَقُولُ: مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى، فَأَجَبْنَا وَاتَّبَعْنَا، فَيُقَالُ: نَمْ صَالِحًا فَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ، وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ - أَوِ الْمُرْتَابُ، لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ - فَيَقُولُ: لَا أَدْرِي سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ شَيْئًا فَقُلْتُهُ "
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I came to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and the people were standing, and she too was praying. I asked: What is the matter with the people? She pointed with her hand towards the sky and said: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah). I asked: Is it a sign? She indicated with her head: yes. I stood until I began to faint, and I started pouring water over my head. (After finishing the prayer) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praised Allah and extolled Him as He deserves, then said: "There was nothing that was shown to me except that I have seen it in this place of mine, even Paradise and Hell. And it has been revealed to me that you will be tried in the graves like - or close to, the narrator does not remember which word Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her) said - the trial of the Dajjal, the False Messiah. Each one of you will be approached and it will be said to him: What do you know about this man? The believer will say: Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; he came to us with clear proofs and guidance, so we responded and followed. Then it will be said: Sleep in goodness; we knew that you believed in Allah. And the hypocrite - or the doubter, the narrator does not remember which word was said - will say: I do not know anything; I heard the people saying something, so I said the same."
حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ، بَابٌ
A similar hadith is also narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her).
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُمْ بِعِتَاقَةٍ حِينَ كُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to free slaves at the time of the solar eclipse.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِالْعِتَاقَةِ عِنْدَ كُسُوفِ الشَّمْسِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the freeing of slaves at the time of the solar eclipse.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا عَثَّامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، قَالَتْ: «كُنَّا نُؤْمَرُ بِالْعِتَاقَةِ عِنْدَ كُسُوفِ الشَّمْسِ»
Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "We used to be ordered to free slaves at the time of a solar eclipse."
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، وَفَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، أَنَّهُمَا قَالَا: خَرَجَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حِينَ هَاجَرَتْ وَهِيَ حُبْلَى بِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، فَقَدِمَتْ قِبَاءَ فَنُفِسَتْ بِعَبْدِ اللهِ بِهَا، ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ حِينَ نُفِسَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِتَحْنِكَهُ «فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا فَوَضَعَهُ فِي حِجْرِهِ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِتَمْرَةٍ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَمَكَثْنَا سَاعَةً نَلْتَمِسُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ نَجِدَهَا «فَمَضَغَهَا، ثُمَّ وَضَعَهَا فِي فِيهِ» ، فَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ شَيْءٍ دَخَلَ بَطْنَهُ لَرِيقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ: «ثُمَّ مَسَحَهُ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَسَمَّاهُ عَبْدَ اللهِ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ بَعْدُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَبْعِ سِنِينَ أَوْ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ لِيُبَايِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُ بِذَلِكَ الزُّبَيْرُ، فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ رَآهُ مُقْبِلًا إِلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ بَايَعَهُ» بَابٌ
When Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) came as an emigrant, she was pregnant with Abdullah bin al-Zubayr. She reached Quba', and Abdullah was born there. Then, as soon as she was done with her postnatal period, she went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he (peace and blessings be upon him) could perform his tahnik (chewing a date and placing it in the newborn's mouth). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took him from her and placed him in his lap, then called for a date. Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: We searched for it for a while before it was found. "Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) chewed it, then put it into the child's mouth," so the very first thing that entered his stomach was the saliva of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyidah Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped over him, supplicated for him and named him Abdullah. Then, when he was seven or eight years old, he came at the instruction of Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) to give the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him coming towards him, he smiled, then took his pledge."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لِي جَارَةٌ - أَيْ ضُرَّةٌ، فَكَرِهَتْ أَنْ تَقُولَ ضُرَّةً - فَعَلَيَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ أَتَشَبَّعَ بِمَا لَمْ أَعْطَهْ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that a woman asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have a fellow wife living with me - meaning a co-wife, but she disliked saying the word "co-wife" - so is there any sin on me if I make a show of being filled (well-off) with what I have not been given? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever pretends to be filled with what he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ، قَالَا: ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي زَوْجًا، وَإِنَّ لِي جَارَةً، فَهَلْ عَلِيَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ أَتَشَبَّعَ عِنْدَهَا بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطِنِي زَوْجِي؟ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that a woman said: O Messenger of Allah! I have a husband and I have a co-wife. Is there any sin on me if, in front of her, I make a show of being filled with what my husband has not given me? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Whoever pretends to be filled with what he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood."

Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have a co-wife. Is there any sin on me if I make a show of being filled, on my husband's part, with what he does not give me? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever pretends to be filled with what he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood."
