It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out while Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) was at the door. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him, he said: "O Mu'adh!" He said: "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave them, so that they strive to outdo one another in good deeds, for I fear that they will rely on it alone."
