It is narrated from Sayyiduna Iyad bin Himar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about a luqatah (found property), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It should be announced, and it should not be hidden or concealed. If its owner comes, give it to him; otherwise it is the wealth of Allah, which He gives to whomever He wills."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Iyad bin Himar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever finds a lost item should take two upright witnesses and should not conceal it. If he does not find its owner, then it is the wealth of Allah, which He gives to whomever He wills."
Hadith Referenceالمعجم الكبير للطبراني / باب العين / 15057
Sayyiduna Iyad bin Himar al-Mujashi'i (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has commanded me to teach you what you did not know, of what I have been taught this day of mine. And Allah Almighty said: All wealth that I have granted My servants is lawful for them. I created all My servants upright (hunafa'), then the devils came to them and led them astray from their religion, and made unlawful for them what I had made lawful for them, and commanded them to associate with Me that for which I sent down no authority. And Allah Almighty looked at the people of the earth and was displeased with all of them, Arabs and non-Arabs alike, except a few remnants of the People of the Book. And Allah Almighty commanded me to fight Quraysh, so I said: O my Lord! They will smash my head and leave it like a piece of bread. Allah Almighty said: I have sent you only to test you and to test (people) through you, and I have sent down to you a Book that water cannot wash away, which you recite both asleep and awake. So fight them, and Allah will grant you honour; spend, and it will be spent on you; send an army, and We will support you with five times its like; and with those who obey you, fight those who disobey you. The people of Paradise are of three kinds: a just ruler; a merciful, soft-hearted man towards every relative and every Muslim; and a wealthy, chaste man who gives in charity. And the people of the Fire are of five kinds: the weak man who has no strength, those among you who are mere followers, seeking neither family nor wealth; a man who, as soon as morning comes, sets out to betray you in your family and your wealth; a man whose greed never stays hidden, however small, but he takes it; and the foul-mouthed, obscene man." The narrator said: And he (peace and blessings be upon him) also mentioned miserliness and lying.

Al-Ala' bin Ziyad and Jabir bin Yazid (may Allah have mercy on them both), the brother of Mutarrif, and two other men whose names Hammam did not remember, all narrate that Mutarrif (may Allah have mercy on him) told them that Sayyiduna Iyad bin Himar (may Allah be pleased with him) told him that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say in his sermon: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has commanded me to teach you what you do not know, of what He has taught me this day of mine. Indeed, all wealth that I have granted My servant is lawful. I created all My servants upright (turning away from falsehood, upon the truth), then the devils came to them again and again and led them astray from their religion, and made unlawful for them what I had made lawful for them, and commanded them to associate with Me that for which I sent down no authority. And indeed Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, looked at the people of the earth and was displeased with them, Arabs and non-Arabs alike, except a few remaining people of the People of the Book. Then He said: O Muhammad! I have sent you to test you and to test others through you, and I have sent down to you a Book that water cannot wash away, which you recite awake and asleep (in every state). And indeed Allah revealed to me that I should fight Quraysh, so I said: O my Lord! Then they will smash my head and flatten it like a piece of bread. Allah said: Drive them out as they drove you out, and fight them, and We will soon grant you victory; spend, and it will be spent on you; send an army, and We will send five times its like; and with those who obey you, fight those who disobey you." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people of Paradise are of three kinds: a just and successful ruler; a soft-hearted, merciful man who is gentle with every relative and every Muslim; and a chaste, poor man who gives in charity." And he said: "The people of the Fire are of five kinds: a man whose greed can never be hidden, even for a trifling thing; a man who, morning and evening, does nothing but deceive you regarding your family and your wealth; and a weak man who has no restraint, meaning those among you who are mere followers, seeking neither family nor wealth." A man asked: O Abu Abdullah! Are they from the mawali (clients) or from the Arabs? He replied: He is the follower (hanger-on) who stays with a man and then violates his sanctity (the women of his household) through fornication, without marriage. "And the foul-mouthed, obscene man." The narrator said: And he (peace and blessings be upon him) also mentioned lying and miserliness.
Imam al-Tabarani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: These are the words of Abu Muslim's narration.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Iyad bin Himar al-Mujashi'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said one day: "Shall I not tell you what Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, told me in the Book? Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, created Adam and his children upright in faith (hunafa'), Muslims, and He gave them lawful wealth in which there was nothing unlawful, but they worshipped false deities (taghut). And He commanded me to go to them and make clear to them that upon which they were created. I said to my Lord: If I go to them, Quraysh will smash my head as bread is broken. Allah said to me: Go forth and I will make you succeed; spend, and it will be spent on you; and fight those who disobey you by means of those who obey you. With every army you send I will send ten times as many angels, and I will blow terror into the hearts of your enemy, and We will give you a Book that water cannot erase, which I will keep reminding you of while you are asleep and awake. So look at me and Quraysh, these Quraysh: they bloodied my face and took my family away from me, and I am the one who begins war against them. If I overcome them, they will come to what I called them to, willingly or unwillingly; and if they overcome me, I was still upon a true matter to which I was calling you."
