حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنِي قَتَادَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَخُو مُطَرِّفٍ، وَعُقْبَةُ وَرَجُلٌ آخَرُ، أَنَّ مُطَرِّفًا حَدَّثَهُمْ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ حِمَارٍ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ خُطْبَةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ " إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُعَلِّمَكُمْ مَا جَهِلْتُمْ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ.
Al-Ala' bin Ziyad, Yazid bin Abdullah (the brother of Mutarrif), Uqbah and another man (may Allah have mercy on them) narrate that Mutarrif (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated to them from Sayyiduna Iyad bin Himar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he attended a sermon of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has commanded me to teach you what you did not know." Then the narrator mentioned the complete hadith similar to the one already mentioned before it.
