حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ السِّمْسَارُ، ثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ، ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ حِمَارٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ اللُّقَطَةِ فَقَالَ: «عَرِّفْهَا فَإِنْ وَجَدْتَ صَاحِبَهَا وَإلَّا فَهِيَ مَالُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ» فَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَيُّوبُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ مُطَرِّفًا
Sayyiduna Iyad bin Himar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about a luqatah (found property), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Announce it. If you find its owner, well and good; otherwise it is the wealth of Allah, which He gives to whomever He wills." Ayyub did not mention Mutarrif in his narration.
