The nearness of the Hour

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour has drawn near, yet people are only growing farther from it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except al-Tabarani's teacher, who is thiqah thabt (trustworthy and precise).

Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I and the Hour have been sent together; it almost outstripped me (that is, it almost came before me)."
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it; however, he (al-Bazzar) has the wording: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this while joining his index finger and middle finger. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointing with two fingers as he said: "I and the Hour have been sent like this and this (that is, like these two fingers)."
Ahmad, al-Bazzar, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abu Khalid al-Walibi, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Wahb al-Suwa'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I and the Hour have been sent like this and this (that is, these two fingers); it almost outstripped it (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are:) it (that is, the Hour) almost outstripped me."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it; however, he (al-Tabarani) has only the words: "It almost outstripped me." The narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abu Khalid al-Walibi, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two (fingers)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Abu Nu'aym Dirar bin Surad, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two (fingers)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abu Jubayrah bin al-Dahhak al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I and the Hour have been sent like this." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this while joining his index finger and middle finger, (and then he said:) "So I have preceded it (that is, the Hour) just as this (finger) precedes this (other finger)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it with a hasan (good) chain.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Jubayrah bin al-Dahhak (may Allah be pleased with him) that he reports, through some elders of the Ansar, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) something similar to it (the previous hadith).
All the narrators of this chain are narrators of Sahih Bukhari and Muslim, except Shibl bin Awf or Shubayl bin Awf, and he too is thiqah (trustworthy).

Al-Bazzar recorded only this part of it: "I have been sent at the very onset of the Hour (that is, as its first sign)."

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting beneath a tree. The tree moved, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up in alarm. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about this, and he said: "I thought the Resurrection had come."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that al-A'mash did not hear from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), as has been stated.
