وَعَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةُ جَمِيعًا ، إِنْ كَادَتْ لَتَسْبِقُنِي " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةُ كَهَاتَيْنِ " . وَضَمَّ إِصْبُعَيْهِ السَّبَّابَةَ وَالْوُسْطَى . وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I and the Hour have been sent together; it almost outstripped me (that is, it almost came before me)."
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it; however, he (al-Bazzar) has the wording: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this while joining his index finger and middle finger. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.
