Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Miqah comes from Allah Almighty (the narrator Sharik says: it means love), and repute comes from the heaven. When Allah Almighty loves a servant, He says to Jibril: I love so-and-so. So he announces: Allah Almighty loves so-and-so, so (O angels!) you too love him! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then that love descends upon the earth. And when Allah Almighty dislikes a servant, He says to Jibril: I dislike so-and-so, so you too dislike him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: So Sayyiduna Jibril announces: Your Lord dislikes so-and-so, so you too dislike him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then dislike for that person is spread upon the earth."
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its narrators have been declared trustworthy. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: I have not found this narration in "al-Atraf".

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Every servant has a repute in the heaven. If his repute is good, it (that is, his good repute) is placed on the earth, and if his repute in the heaven is bad, it too (that is, his bad repute) is placed on the earth." (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: From this Companion there is a narration in "the Sahih" other than this one.
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: At "al-Nabawah" (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are: at the place "al-Naba'ah") I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Soon the people of Paradise will be recognised from the people of Hell." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! How?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Through good praise or bad praise."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for al-Hasan bin Arafah, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! How will I know whether what I have done is good or bad?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you hear your neighbours saying that you have done well, it means you have done well; and when you hear them saying: You have done badly, it means you have done badly."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna al-Dahhak bin Qays al-Fihri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a man comes to a people and they say: Welcome! then he will also be welcomed on the day he presents himself before Allah Almighty. And when a man comes to a people and they say: Away with you! then on the Day of Resurrection he too will be kept away."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Abu Umar al-Darir al-Akbar, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The person who does not die until Allah Almighty fills his ears with what he loves." It was asked: "Who are the people of Hell?" He said: "The person who does not die until Allah Almighty fills his ears with what that person dislikes."
