Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the one among you who is most beloved to Allah Almighty?" The people said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The narrator says: We thought that perhaps he would name some person. He said: "The one among you most beloved to Allah Almighty is the one most beloved to people. Shall I not tell you about the one among you most disliked by Allah Almighty?" We said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The narrator says: We thought that perhaps he would name someone. He said: "The one among you most disliked by Allah Almighty is the one most disliked by people."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Rahman bin Haydah al-Anbari, whom I do not know, and the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
