وَعَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْفِهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِذَا أَتَى الرَّجُلُ الْقَوْمَ فَقَالُوا : مَرْحَبًا . فَمَرْحَبًا بِهِ يَوْمَ يَلْقَى رَبَّهُ . وَإِذَا أَتَى الرَّجُلُ الْقَوْمَ فَقَالُوا : قَحْطًا . فَقَحْطًا لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ أَبِي عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرِ الْأَكْبَرِ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna al-Dahhak bin Qays al-Fihri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a man comes to a people and they say: Welcome! then he will also be welcomed on the day he presents himself before Allah Almighty. And when a man comes to a people and they say: Away with you! then on the Day of Resurrection he too will be kept away."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Abu Umar al-Darir al-Akbar, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
