Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever angers Allah Almighty to please people, Allah Almighty will be angry with him, and will also make the one whom he tried to please at the cost of Allah's displeasure angry with him. And whoever pleases Allah Almighty at the cost of people's displeasure, Allah Almighty will be pleased with him, and will also make the one who was angry with him for the sake of Allah's pleasure pleased with him, until Allah Almighty adorns him, and his word and his deed, in the eyes of the other person."
