Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Paradise has eight gates; seven of them are closed, and one gate is open for repentance, and it will remain open until the sun rises from its direction (that is, from the west)."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is jayyid (good).

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far, who is da'if (weak).

Al-Tabarani recorded it with a munqati' (broken) chain.

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty continues to accept the repentance of the servant (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the words are:) Allah Almighty continues to forgive the servant, as long as the veil has not fallen." It was asked: What is meant by the falling of the veil? He said: "That the soul departs while it is a polytheist."
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Abd al-Rahman bin Thabit bin Thawban, whom a group declared thiqah (trustworthy) while others declared him da'if (weak), and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). One of al-Bazzar's two chains contains Ibrahim bin Hani', who is da'if (weak).
