Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him to Yemen, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also went out with him, giving him advice. Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding, while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) walked alongside his mount. When he had finished speaking, he said: "O Mu'adh, perhaps we will not meet after this year of mine; perhaps you will pass by this mosque of mine and my grave." Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) wept out of grief at parting from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned, faced towards Madinah, and said: "The people closest to me are the God-fearing, whoever they may be and wherever they may be."
Ahmad recorded it with two chains. In one of the chains he said: from Asim bin Humayd that Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated it, and in that narration he recorded these words: "O Mu'adh, do not weep! For weeping is from Satan." (The narrator is unsure about one word here.) The narrators of both chains are the narrators of the "Sahih", except Rashid bin Sa'd and Asim bin Humayd, and both of them are thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the night of the delegation of the jinn. When he returned, he was breathing deeply. I said: "What is the matter with you?" He said: "O Ibn Mas'ud, I have been informed of my death."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Mina' bin Abi Mina', whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and the majority declared da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The victory has come, the help of Allah has come, and the people of Yemen have come." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, what are the people of Yemen like?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are people whose hearts are tender and gentle; faith is Yemeni and understanding is Yemeni."

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: During the illness in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her): "O my daughter, come close to me." She drew near to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to her in a whisper for a while. When she drew back, she was weeping, and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was present there. Then, a little while later, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "My daughter, come close to me!" She bent over the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said something to her in a whisper. Then she drew back, and she was laughing. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said: "O my daughter, tell me what your father whispered to you." Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "He told me a secret; do you think I would disclose his secret during his lifetime?" It weighed upon Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had shared a secret with someone other than her. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her): "O my daughter, will you not tell me about that?" She said: "Yes, now it is fine. The first time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told me in a whisper that Jibril used to review the Qur'an with him once every year, and this year he reviewed it with me twice. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told me that Jibril had told him that every prophet who lives, lives to half the age of the prophet before him. And he also told me that Sayyiduna Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) lived for one hundred and twenty years, so I think about myself that I will pass away at the age of sixty." (Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) says:) "That made me weep. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'O my daughter, there is no woman among the women of the Muslims who will face a greater calamity than you, so do not be less than any woman in patience.'" (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: After this he mentioned the complete hadith.
Al-Tabarani recorded it with a da'if (weak) chain; al-Bazzar also recorded part of it, and there is weakness among its narrators.
