Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some poetry is wisdom."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Husam bin Misakk, and there is agreement that he is da'if (weak).

Al-Bazzar, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, recorded it with various chains. The narrators of one of al-Bazzar's chains are the narrators of the Sahih, except Ali bin Harb al-Mawsili, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Kathir bin Abdullah bin Amr bin Awf, whom the majority declared da'if (weak), while al-Tirmidhi graded his hadith hasan (good). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
