The sign of a good ending

Sayyiduna Amr bin al-Hamiq al-Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He employs him before his death." It was asked: "In what does He employ him?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He opens a righteous deed for him before his death, until those around him become pleased with him."
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrators of Ahmad and al-Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih.

Jubayr bin Nufayr narrates that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) told him that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He employs him before his death." A man among those present asked: "How does He employ him?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He guides him to a righteous deed before his death and then takes his soul in that state."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Baqiyyah, who has explicitly stated that he heard it, and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Abu Inabah narrates: Sayyiduna Shurayh bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honour of being a Companion, narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He sweetens him with honey." It was asked: "What is meant by sweetening him with honey?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He opens a righteous deed for him before his death and then takes his soul in that state."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Baqiyyah, who explicitly stated that he heard it in the Musnad, and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He purifies him before his death." The people said: "What is meant by the purification of the servant?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He inspires him with a righteous deed, until He takes his (soul) upon it (that righteous deed)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it through several routes, in some of which the word "asalahu" (sweetened him) appears in place of "tahharahu" (purified him). One of its routes contains Baqiyyah bin al-Walid, who explicitly stated that he heard it, and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He washes him." It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah, how does He wash him?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He grants him the ability to do a righteous deed before his death and then takes his soul in that state."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Yunus bin Uthman, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He employs him." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell silent. The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, in what kind (of work)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has him do a righteous deed before he (the servant) dies."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from his teacher Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Nafi', whom I do not know; the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I had propped the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) against my chest, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever says 'La ilaha illallah' (there is no god but Allah) seeking the pleasure of Allah Almighty, and his end is upon it, will enter Paradise. Whoever fasts one day seeking the pleasure of Allah Almighty, and his end is upon it, will enter Paradise. Whoever gives something in charity seeking the pleasure of Allah Almighty, and his end is upon it, will enter Paradise."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except the narrator Uthman bin Muslim al-Batti, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
