وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا اسْتَعْمَلَهُ " ، ثُمَّ صَمَتَ ، فَقَالُوا : فِي مَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " يَسْتَعْمِلُهُ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He employs him." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell silent. The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, in what kind (of work)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has him do a righteous deed before he (the servant) dies."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from his teacher Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Nafi', whom I do not know; the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
