عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَمِقِ الْخُزَاعِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا اسْتَعْمَلَهُ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ " ، قِيلَ : وَمَا اسْتَعْمَلَهُ ؟ قَالَ : " يُفْتَحُ لَهُ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ مَوْتِهِ حَتَّى يَرْضَى عَنْهُ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ وَالْبَزَّارِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ وَالْبَزَّارِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Amr bin al-Hamiq al-Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He employs him before his death." It was asked: "In what does He employ him?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He opens a righteous deed for him before his death, until those around him become pleased with him."
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrators of Ahmad and al-Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih.
