Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: (Allah Almighty says:) "Hajj is (in) well-known months." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This means Dhu al-Qa'dah and Dhu al-Hijjah. Allah Almighty says: "Whoever makes Hajj obligatory upon himself in these months." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This means reciting the talbiyah and entering the state of ihram. (Allah Almighty says:) "Then there is to be no rafath." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This means sexual relations with women. Allah Almighty says: "And no fusuq." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This means verbal abuse. Allah Almighty says: "And no jidal." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This means quarrelling.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Yahya bin al-Sakan, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: (Allah Almighty says:) "Hajj is (in) well-known months." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (This means) Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa'dah and Dhu al-Hijjah.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Husayn bin Mukhariq, who is extremely da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, (Allah Almighty says:) "Then there is to be no rafath, no fusuq and no jidal during Hajj." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rafath means obscene talk and approaching women for intercourse; fusuq means committing sins; and jidal means a man quarrelling with his companion."
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his shaykh Yahya bin Uthman bin Salih, from Sawwar bin Muhammad bin Quraysh; both of them have some weakness (layyin), though they have been declared trustworthy, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: "No rafath" means intercourse; "No fusuq": he says, fusuq means sins; "No jidal during Hajj": he says, (jidal here means) quarrelling.
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Khusayf, whom al-Ijli and Yahya bin Ma'in declared thiqah (trustworthy), while a group declared him da'if (weak); the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
