Book of Tafsir
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : الْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌ مَعْلُومَاتٌ فَمَنْ فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ الْحَجَّ فَلَا رَفَثَ .
The saying of Allah the Exalted: "Hajj is in the well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein, there is to be no sexual relations"

وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي قَوْلِهِ : الْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌ مَعْلُومَاتٌ قَالَ : " شَوَّالٌ وَذُو الْقِعْدَةِ وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ حُصَيْنُ بْنُ مُخَارِقٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ جِدًّا .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: (Allah Almighty says:) "Hajj is (in) well-known months." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (This means) Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa'dah and Dhu al-Hijjah.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Husayn bin Mukhariq, who is extremely da'if (weak).
