Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not return a gift, and do not strike the Muslims."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and Ahmad's narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever asks you in the name of Allah, give to him; whoever seeks refuge with you in the name of Allah, grant him refuge; whoever invites you, accept his invitation; and whoever gives you a trotter as a gift, accept it."
At-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, (in which) he said: "Whoever gives you a foreleg or a trotter as a gift, accept it."
Abu Dawud recorded this narration, but without these words: "Whoever invites you" up to the end; those words are not in it. The narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir are the narrators of the Sahih, except the narrator named Layth bin Abi Sulaym; he is thiqah (trustworthy), but he is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Muslims used to give one another gifts because of their mutual ties. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If all people were to accept Islam, they could give one another gifts without suffering want."
At-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir; in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir he recorded these words: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order giving gifts for the sake of ties between people, and he used to say: "If all people were to accept Islam, they would be able to give one another gifts without going hungry." Its chain contains a narrator, Sa'id bin Bashir, whom a group declared thiqah (trustworthy) while some others called him da'if (weak); the rest of the narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).

Give one another gifts, for a gift removes enmity (or resentment) and creates love. By Allah, if a trotter were given to me as a gift, I would accept it; and if I were invited to (a meal of) a foreleg, I would accept."
At-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and al-Bazzar recorded something similar; its chain contains a narrator, A'idh bin Shurayh, who is da'if (weak).

Its chain contains a narrator, al-Muthanna Abu Hatim, and I have not found anyone who wrote his biography; the rest of the narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy), though some of them have been criticised.
