وَعَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " نِعْمَ الشَّيْءُ الْهَدِيَّةُ أَمَامَ الْحَاجَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْعَطَّارُ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Imam Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Giving a gift before making a request is a good thing."
At-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Yahya bin Sa'id al-Attar, who is da'if (weak).
