It is reported about Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the time of the trial (fitnah) a governor came to Madinah. At that time the eyesight of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) had gone. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) was told: "It would be better if you walked a little aside." He was walking between his two sons, and he was pushed back. He said: "May the one who frightened the Messenger of Allah be ruined!" His two sons, or one of them, said: "Father, how did this man frighten the Messenger of Allah when he has passed away?" Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever frightens the people of Madinah has frightened what lies between my two sides (that is, me)."
Imam Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
