Sayyidah Subay'ah al-Aslamiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever among you is able to die in Madinah, let him die (in Madinah), for whoever dies here, I will be an intercessor for him on the Day of Resurrection (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are:) a witness for him."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Abdullah bin Ikrimah, whose case is different. Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned him, a group narrated from him, and no one has spoken ill of him.

An orphan woman who lived in the household of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and who belonged to the tribe of Thaqif, narrated to Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Abi Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever among you is able to die in Madinah, let him die (in Madinah), for whoever dies here, I will be a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are:) an intercessor for him."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain is hasan (good), and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for the teacher of Imam al-Tabarani, whose case is different.
