Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5827

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Suffice them against whoever afflicts them with hardship." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant the people of Madinah. (He said:) "Whoever intends evil towards it (that is, Madinah), Allah Almighty will dissolve him (in Hell) just as salt dissolves in water." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The last part of this narration is reported in the Sahih.
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
