Mas'ud bin Qabisah (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) Qabisah bin Mas'ud narrates: They offered the dawn (Fajr) prayer in the area belonging to the tribe of Muharib. When those people had finished the prayer, a young man among them said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Soon the eastern and western regions of the earth will be conquered for you, and their state officials will go to Hell, except for one who fears Allah Almighty and fulfils the trust."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Mas'ud, and a narrator, Shaqiq bin Hibban, and both of them are majhul (unknown).

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Take charge of collecting the zakah of Banu so-and-so, and be careful that it should not happen that when you come on the Day of Resurrection, you are carrying on your neck a camel (here the narrator is unsure about one word) that is making noise." He said: "O Messenger of Allah! Do not give me this duty." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give him that (responsibility).
Ahmad, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that Sa'id bin al-Musayyib did not see Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I hold you by your waistbands to stop you from going into the Fire, saying: 'Save yourselves from the Fire, save yourselves from the Fire!' But you break out of my grip and try to fall into it, just as moths and insects (fall into fire). Soon I will let go of your waistbands (that is, you will slip from my hand). I will be your forerunner at the Pond, and you will come to me together and in separate groups. I will recognise you by your distinctive mark, and I will know your names just as a man recognises a strange camel among his own camels. They will take you to the left, and I will plead for you before the Lord of all the worlds. I will say: 'O my Lord! These are my people! O my Lord! This is my Ummah!' Then Allah Almighty will say: 'O Muhammad! Do you not know what changes they made after you? These people turned back on their heels after you.' (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) On the Day of Resurrection, let me certainly not find any one of you in such a state that he is carrying a goat that is bleating, and he calls out: 'O Sayyiduna Muhammad! O Sayyiduna Muhammad! (Help me!)' and I say: 'I cannot be of any use to you; I conveyed the message to you.' And on the Day of Resurrection, let me not find any one of you in such a state that he is carrying a camel that is making noise, and that man says: 'O Sayyiduna Muhammad! O Sayyiduna Muhammad! (Help me!)' and I say: 'I cannot be of any use to you; I conveyed the message to you.' And let me certainly not find any one of you in such a state that when he comes on the Day of Resurrection, he is carrying a horse that is neighing, and that man calls out: 'O Sayyiduna Muhammad! O Sayyiduna Muhammad!' and I say: 'I cannot be of any use to you; I conveyed the message to you.' Let me certainly not find any one of you on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that he is carrying a leather waterskin and calling out: 'O Sayyiduna Muhammad! O Sayyiduna Muhammad!' and I say: 'I cannot be of any use to you; I conveyed the message to you.'"
Abu Ya'la (perhaps the correct word is al-Tabarani) recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and al-Bazzar recorded it, though he narrated the word "qash'" in place of the word "siqa'" (waterskin); and all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a man to collect zakah; that man's name was Ibn al-Lutbiyyah. He collected the zakah, then returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have not left any right of yours behind (that is, I have collected it in full). Something was given to me as a gift, so I accepted the gift." (Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says:) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sat on the pulpit and said: "I send some men to collect zakah; then one of them comes and says: 'By Allah! I committed no wrong, nor did I leave any right of yours behind; but something was given to me as a gift, so I accepted the gift.' Why did that man not stay sitting in his mother's house, so that he could see who gives him a gift? Beware lest anyone of you comes (on the Day of Resurrection in such a state) that he is carrying on his neck a camel that is making noise, or a cow that is lowing, or a goat that is bleating." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised both his hands until the whiteness of his (peace and blessings be upon him) armpits became visible.
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibrahim bin Isma'il bin Abi Habibah, who is da'if (weak).

Jahm bin Fadalah narrates: I entered the mosque of Damascus, and there was Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) sitting, removing lice and burying the lice in the ground. I sat with him. He said Subhan Allah three times, al-Hamdu lillah three times and Allahu Akbar three times, then he said: These are words that are light on the tongue and will be heavy in the Scale, and they ascend to the Most Merciful. I said: "O Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him)! I am a man who lives in the countryside; the zakah collectors come to us and wrong us." Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Charity is a right, and those who pursue it (wrongfully) will go to Hell; this is established by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), whether they fall short in it or exceed the limit. Bring the wealth and do not conceal anything of it, for then you would make impure both what you conceal and what you bring. And when you see them (wronging you), do not revile them, but seek refuge in Allah from their evil.

In one narration the words are: I asked Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), and I mentioned the zakah collection officials to him. He said: Zakah is a right, and those who collect it (wrongfully) will go to Hell; this is established by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Qaza'ah bin Suwayd, about whom much has been said, though he has also been declared trustworthy; and the narrator Jahm is not known.
