Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a son of Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) died, Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) said to his wife, Sayyidah Hawwa (may Allah be pleased with her): 'Your son has died.' She asked: 'What is death?' Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) said: 'Now he will neither eat, nor drink, nor grasp, nor walk.' When Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) said this, Sayyidah Hawwa (may Allah be pleased with her) let out a scream. Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) said: 'Now wailing is laid upon you and your daughters, and I and my sons will be free of it.' So after that, women weep and beat themselves (excessively over a deceased person)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Husayn bin Sayyar, and he is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports from Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him): I said to him: "Narrate to us a hadith that you heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in which there is no deficiency and no error." He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever has three children born to him in Islam (that is, while he is a Muslim), and they then die before reaching puberty, Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise because of His mercy towards those children. And whoever spends a pair (of anything) in the path of Allah, Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise through whichever of the eight gates of Paradise he wishes."
Imam Ahmad recorded it. Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir in abridged form, leaving out the part about spending, and he recorded these words: "Allah Almighty will admit him and them into Paradise by His mercy." The chain of this report is hasan (good).

Muhammad bin Sirin says: A woman narrated a hadith to us. That woman used to visit us; her name was Mawiyah, and her children would not survive. That woman came to Ubaydullah bin Ma'mar al-Qurashi, and with him was one of the Companions. That Companion related that once a woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) bringing her child with her. She said: "O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah Almighty that He lets this child remain with me, for three of my children have already died before him." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Since you accepted Islam?" She said: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Since you accepted Islam?" She said: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Since you accepted Islam?" She said: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is a strong shield." The woman named Mawiyah says: Ubaydullah bin Ma'mar said: "O Mawiyah, listen to this."
