Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3979

Sinan, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates: The son of al-Rayyan passed away, and Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) attended his funeral. When they returned from the graveyard, Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) sat down by the gate of Damascus. When al-Rayyan passed by him, Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Abu Sa'id, may Allah Almighty mend your calamity and forgive your deceased. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever buries three children, Allah Almighty makes Hell forbidden for that person.'"
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and the narrator named Sinan is majhul (unknown).
