عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَاتَ لِي وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ مَاتَ لَهُ وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمَا " ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لَقِيَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : فَقَالَ لِي : أَنْتَ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ سَلَّمَ فِي الْوَلَدَيْنِ مَا قَالَ ؟ قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ . فَقَالَ : لَأَنْ يَكُونَ قَالَهُ لِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا غُلِّقَتْ عَلَيْهِ حِمْصُ وَفِلَسْطِينُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Two of my children have died in Islam." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has two children die in Islam, Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise by the grace of His mercy towards those two children." The narrator says: After that I met Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he asked: "Are you the one to whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said what he said about two children?" I replied: "Yes." He said: "Had the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this about me, it would have been dearer to me than everything that the gates of Hims and Palestine are closed upon (that is, all the goods within those cities)."
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
