Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) states: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about smoothing the pebbles with the hand, and he said: Do it once; and if you refrain even from that, it is better than a hundred she-camels, all of them with black eyes.
Imam Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Shurahbil bin Sa'd, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man moving the pebbles while he was praying. When he had finished the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to that man: This is your share of the prayer.
Abu Ya'la and Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, who is da'if (weak).

When he finished the prayer, he turned towards us and said: Which of you was turning over the pebbles with his hand? A man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, I was. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That is your share of your prayer.
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains al-Wazi' bin Nafi', who is da'if (weak).

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That is your share of your prayer.
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Yazid bin Abd al-Malik al-Nawfali, whom the Imams declared da'if (weak). According to one report Yahya bin Ma'in called him thiqah (trustworthy), and according to another report he declared him weak.

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about smoothing the pebbles with the hand (meaning, doing so during the prayer), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The hand may be passed over them once. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: From this Companion, a hadith is recorded in the Sunan forbidding smoothing the pebbles.
Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Muhammad bin Abi Layla, and there is weakness in his hadith.
