Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not look around during the prayer, for there is no prayer for the one who looks around."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in all three of his books. Its chain contains al-Salt bin Yahya, in al-Tabarani's narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; al-Azdi declared him weak. In the narration of al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat there is a narrator al-Salt bin Thabit, and this is an error (wahm); this person is actually al-Salt bin Tarif. Imam al-Dhahabi mentioned him in Mizan al-I'tidal and cited this hadith under his entry. Imam al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) says: There is idtirab (inconsistency) in the hadith he narrates. And Allah knows best.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: Previously, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to turn to the right and left during the prayer. Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "Successful indeed are the believers, those who are humble in their prayer." After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained in humility and did not turn to the right or left.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and said: The narrator Hibarah bin Najm al-Iskandarani is alone in narrating it. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: I have not found anyone who has given his biography, and the rest of the narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
