Majma al-Zawaid 2433 — What is forbidden in prayer, such as laughing

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Allah Almighty remains turned toward the servant as long as the servant does not look around, or a state of ritual impurity (hadath) does not befall him.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrator Abu Qilabah did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
