Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us, and it seemed as though he were bidding farewell. He said: "I am the unlettered Prophet." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times. (Then he said:) "There will be no Prophet after me. I have been given clear and comprehensive words. I know the angels who guard Hell and the angels who carry the Throne. Ease has been granted to me, well-being has been granted to me and well-being has been granted to my Ummah. As long as I am among you, obey and follow; and when I depart, it is obligatory upon you to follow the Book of Allah Almighty: treat as lawful what it makes lawful and treat as unlawful what it makes unlawful."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Act upon the Qur'an! Treat as lawful what it makes lawful, treat as unlawful what it makes unlawful, follow it, and do not deny anything of it. Whatever seems ambiguous to you, refer it to Allah Almighty and to those in authority after me, so that they may inform you about it. Believe in the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms and whatever the Prophets were given by their Lord. May the Qur'an and the clear explanation it contains cure you, for it (the Qur'an) is an intercessor whose intercession will be accepted, and an advocate whose word will be believed. Each of its verses contains light until the Day of Resurrection. I was given Surah al-Baqarah from the Dhikr; I was given Surah Ta Ha and Surah al-Tur from the Tablets of Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him); I was given Surah al-Fatihah and the closing verses of Surah al-Baqarah from a treasure beneath the Throne; and I was given the Mufassal as an extra." Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and in one of his narrations the wording is: "Whatever doubt you have about it, ask the people of knowledge about it and they will tell you."
This narration has two chains: one of them contains Abdullah bin Abi Humayd, and the hadith scholars are agreed that he is da'if (weak); the other contains Imran al-Qattan, whom Ibn Hibban mentioned in Kitab al-Thiqat, while the rest declared him da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most excellent speech is the Book of Allah, (and the most excellent) way is the way of Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The worst of matters are newly invented matters, and every innovation is misguidance. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it goes to his family; and whoever leaves behind debt or dependants, they will be my responsibility."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Shaykh Jamal al-Din al-Mizzi attributed part of it to Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him), and it appears that this part is in al-Sunan al-Kubra. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Ja'far bin Muhammad bin Ali al-Hashimi, whom Ibn Adi mentioned.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Indeed, this Qur'an is an intercessor whose intercession will be accepted. Whoever follows it, it will lead him to Paradise; and whoever abandons it (the narrator is unsure; or perhaps the words are:) whoever turns away from it (the narrator is unsure; or perhaps it was some other similar word), he will be driven by the back of his neck towards Hell.
Al-Bazzar recorded it in this way as mawquf (a statement of) Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).

Through another chain, a similar narration is reported from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this.
The narrators of the marfu' hadith from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) are thiqat (trustworthy), while among the narrators of the athar (report) from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) is al-Mu'alla al-Kindi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Some people were sitting near the door of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), arguing about the Qur'an. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to them, and (due to the intensity of his anger) the colour of his (peace and blessings be upon him) face had changed. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! It was because of this that the nations before were destroyed. Indeed, one part of the Qur'an confirms another, so do not deny one part of it by means of another.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Salih bin Abi al-Akhdar, who is one of those whose hadith is written down despite his weakness.
