The Beast will have three emergences

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sarihah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Beast of the Earth (Dabbat al-Ard) will appear three times. The first time it will come out in the farthest part of Yemen, and mention of it will spread in the countryside, but news of it will not reach the town (Makkah). Then, while the people are in the most sacred place in the sight of Allah and the most beloved to Him, namely al-Masjid al-Haram, it will suddenly appear in a corner of the mosque; it will come out from the area between the Black Stone and the Gate of Banu Makhzum. The people will scatter here and there, but a group of Muslims will stand firm, knowing that they cannot escape Allah. The beast will come before them, shaking the dust off its head; it will begin with them (speaking to them) and will make their faces shine until they are radiant like glittering stars. Then it will set off through the earth; no seeker will be able to catch it and no one who flees will escape it, so much so that a man will seek refuge from it (out of fear) in prayer, and it will come to him from behind and say: O so-and-so! Now you pray?! He will turn towards it, and it will put a mark on his face and go away. So the people will be neighbours to one another in their homes, companions on their journeys and partners in wealth, (yet) the believer will recognise the disbeliever (by the mark), so much so that the disbeliever will say: O believer! Give me my right; and the believer will say: O disbeliever! Give me my right."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, and it is the clearest hadith concerning the Beast of the Earth (Dabbat al-Ard), but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

It is narrated from Abu al-Tufayl that he said: We were sitting with Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) when the Beast of the Earth (Dabbat al-Ard) was mentioned. Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It will first appear in some of the desert regions and then hide. Then it will appear in some of the towns until the people are terrified and the rulers shed blood over its matter (because of the turmoil). Then it will go into hiding. Then, while the people are at the greatest, most excellent and most noble mosque (the narrator said: until we supposed it was al-Masjid al-Haram, though he did not name it), the ground will suddenly split and rise. The ground will rise up and the people will flee, but a large body of Muslims will remain there, saying: Nothing can save us from the decree of Allah. Then the beast will come out and make their faces shine like radiant stars. Then it will remain among the people (in such a way) that they will be neighbours in their homes, partners in wealth and companions to one another on journeys.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "The people will be travelling by night towards Jam' (Muzdalifah), and the Beast of the Earth (Dabbat al-Ard, the creature that will come out of the earth) will be advancing towards them. By morning it will have encircled them all between its head and its tail. There will be no believer except that it wipes him (and marks him), and no hypocrite or disbeliever except that it brands him on the nose. Up to that time the door of repentance will be open. Then the smoke will appear, which will afflict the believer with something like a cold, while it will enter the ear openings of the disbeliever and the hypocrite until they become (swollen) like roasted meat. Even then repentance will be accepted, until the sun rises from the west."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a beast from the earth" [Surah al-Naml: 82], that he said: "This will be when people abandon enjoining good and forbidding evil."
