أخبرنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا أبو المثنّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُسدَّد، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن سعيد، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الحميد بن جعفر [عن أبيه] (2) عن حَكيم بن أفلح، عن أبي مسعود، عن النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قال: "للمسلمِ على المسلمِ أربعُ خِلال: يُجِيبُه إذا دعاه، ويَعودُه إذا مَرِضَ، ويُشمِّتُه إذا عَطَسَ، ويُشيِّعُه إذا مات" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A Muslim has four rights over a Muslim: that he accept when he invites him, visit him when he is ill, respond to him when he sneezes (and praises Allah), and accompany his funeral when he dies."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

أخبرنا علي بن أحمد بن قُرْقُوب التَّمَّار بهَمَذان، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن الحسين، حَدَّثَنَا آدم بن أبي إياس، حَدَّثَنَا ابن أبي ذِئب، عن سعيد المَقبُري، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة، عن النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قال: "إنَّ الله يُحِبُّ العُطاسَ، فإذا عَطَسَ أحدُكم فحقٌّ على كلِّ مَن سَمِعَه أن يقول: يَرحمُك الله" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه! وهذه ترجمة لم يُخِلَّ أبو عبد الله البخاري بحديث منها.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty loves sneezing, so when one of you sneezes, it is a right upon everyone who hears him that he say 'Yarhamuk Allah' (May Allah have mercy on you)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it. And Imam Bukhari did not leave out any of these hadiths from his chapter headings (tarajim).

وقد حدَّثَناه أبو زكريا العَنْبري، حَدَّثَنَا الحسين بن محمد القَبَّاني، حَدَّثَنَا عمرو بن علي، حَدَّثَنَا أبو عامر العَقَدي، حَدَّثَنَا ابن أبي ذِئب، عن المَقبُري، عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "العطاسُ من الله والتثاؤبُ من الشَّيطان، وحقٌّ على من سَمِعَه أن يقول: يَرحمُكم الله" (2).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sneezing is from Allah and yawning is from Satan, and it is a right upon the one who hears (the sneeze) that he say 'Yarhamukumullah' (May Allah have mercy on you)."

أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى، حَدَّثَنَا مُسدَّد، حَدَّثَنَا بِشر بن المُفضَّل، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق، عن سعيد المَقبُري، عن أبي هريرة قال: نَهَى رسولُ الله ﷺ الناسَ أن يَجلِسوا بأفنيَةِ الصُّعُدات، قالوا: إنَّا لا نستطيعُ ذاك ولا نُطِيقُه يا رسول الله، قال: "إمَّا لا، فأَدُّوا حقها" قالوا: وما حقُّها يا رسولَ الله؟ قال: "رَدُّ التحيَّة، وتشميتُ العاطس إذا حَمِدَ الله، وغَضُّ البصر، وإرشادُ السَّبيل" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade people from sitting along the sides of the roads. The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we cannot avoid this (we have need of it). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If not (if you cannot avoid it), then give the road its right." They asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is the right of the road? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Returning the greeting, responding to the sneezer when he praises Allah, lowering the gaze, and guiding the one who has lost his way."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
