حَدَّثَنَا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حَدَّثَنَا بَحْر بن نصر، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الله بن وهب، أخبرني عبد الله بن عيَّاش، عن الأعرج، عن أبي هريرة، أن رسولَ الله ﷺ قال: "إذا عَطَسَ أحدُكم، فليَضَعْ كَفَّيه على وجهِه وليَخفِضْ صوتَه" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you sneezes, let him place his two palms over his face and lower his voice."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده ضعيف من أجل عبد الله بن عياش: وهو ابن عباس القِتباني المصري. لكن صحَّ الحديث من فعل النَّبِيّ ﷺ كما سيأتي عند المصنّف برقم (7990).
Grading: Its chain is weak because of 'Abd Allah bin 'Ayyash (bin 'Abbas al-Qitbani al-Misri).
Important point: Although the chain is weak, this hadith is established and sahih from the (blessed) practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as will come later in this same book with the author (al-Hakim) at hadith no. (7990).
وأخرجه البيهقي في "شعب الإيمان" (8910) من طريق إدريس بن يحيى، عن عبد الله بن عياش، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam al-Bayhaqi in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (8910) through the route of Idris bin Yahya, from 'Abd Allah bin 'Ayyash, with this same chain.
