أخبرني الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، فيما قرأتُه عليه من أصلِ كتابه، أخبرنا محمد بن أحمد بن الوليد الكَرَابيسي ببغداد، حدَّثنا إسحاق بن سعيد بن الأُرْكُون الدِّمشقي، حدَّثنا خُلَيد بن دَعْلَج، عن عطاء بن أبي رباح، عن ابن عباس قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "أمان أهلِ الأرض من الاختلافِ المُوالاة لقريشٍ، قريشٌ أهلُ الله، أهلُ آلاءِ الله، فإذا خالفَتْها قبيلةٌ من العرب صاروا (1) حِزبَ إبليسَ" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The means for the people of the earth to be safe from disagreement is love of and attachment to Quraysh. Quraysh are the people of Allah and the custodians of Allah's blessings. So whenever any tribe of the Arabs opposes them, it will join the party of Iblis."

أخبرني أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن دُحَيم الشَّيباني بالكوفة، حدَّثنا أحمد بن حازم الغِفاري، حدَّثنا محمد بن طَريف البَجَلي، حدَّثنا محمد بن فُضَيل، عن الأعمش، عن أبي سَبْرة النَّخَعي، عن محمد بن كعب القُرَظي، عن العباس بن عبد المطَّلب قال: كُنَّا نلقَى النَّفرَ من قريش وهم يتحدَّثون، فيَقطَعونَ حديثَهم، فذَكَرنا ذلك لرسولِ الله ﷺ، فقال: "ما بالُ أقوامٍ يتحدَّثون، فإذا رأَوُا الرجلَ من أهلي قَطعُوا حديثَهم؟! والله لا يدخُلُ قلبَ رجلٍ الإيمانُ حتى يُحِبَّهم لله تعالى ولِقَرابتي" (1).
هذا حديث يُعرَف من حديث يزيد بن أبي زياد عن عبد الله بن الحارث عن العبّاس، فإذا حصل هذا الشاهدُ من حديث ابن فُضيل عن الأعمش، حكمنا له بالصِّحة. وأما حديثُ يزيد بن أبي زياد:
هذا حديث يُعرَف من حديث يزيد بن أبي زياد عن عبد الله بن الحارث عن العبّاس، فإذا حصل هذا الشاهدُ من حديث ابن فُضيل عن الأعمش، حكمنا له بالصِّحة. وأما حديثُ يزيد بن أبي زياد:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We would pass by a group of Quraysh while they were talking among themselves, and (on seeing us) they would stop their conversation. We mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter with people that when they see someone from my household, they break off their conversation?! By Allah, faith will not enter a man's heart until he loves them (my household) for the sake of Allah and because of my kinship."
This hadith is also well known through the chain of Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, and since a supporting narration (shahid) for it has been found in this narration of Ibn Fudayl from al-A'mash, we have judged it to be authentic.

فحدَّثَناه أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدَّثنا محمد بن إسحاق الصَّغَاني، حدَّثنا يعلى بن عُبيد، عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد، عن يزيد بن أبي زياد، عن عبد الله بن الحارث، عن العبّاس بن عبد المطَّلب قال: قلتُ: يا رسولَ الله، إذا لَقِيَ قريشٌ بعضُها بعضًا لَقُوا بالبِشَارة، وإذا لَقِيناهم لَقُونا بوجوهٍ لا نعرفُها، قال: فغضِبَ غضبًا شديدًا، ثم قال: "والذي نفسُ محمدٍ بيده، لا يدخُلُ قلبَ رجلٍ الإيمانُ حتى يُحِبَّكم لله ولرسولِه" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, when the Quraysh meet one another, they meet with cheerfulness and joy, but when they meet us, their faces are changed. The narrator says: On hearing this, he (peace and blessings be upon him) became intensely angry and said: "By the One in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, faith will not enter a man's heart until he loves you for the sake of Allah and His Messenger."
حدَّثنا أبو محمد عبد الرحمن بن حَمْدان الجَلَّاب بهَمَذان، حدَّثنا أبو حاتم الرازي، حدَّثنا الفَيْضُ بن الفضل البَجَلي، حدَّثنا مِسعَر بن كِدَام، عن سَلَمة بن كُهيل، عن أبي صادق، عن ربيعة بن ناجِذ، عن علي بن أبي طالب قال: قال رسولُ الله ﷺ: "الأئمةُ من قريش، أبرارُها أمراءُ أبرارِها، وفُجَّارُها أُمراءُ فجَّارِها، ولكلٍّ حقٌّ، فآتُوا كلَّ ذي حقٍّ حقَّه، وإن أمَّرتُ عليكم عبدًا حبشيًّا مُجدَّعًا فاسمعوا له وأطيعوا، ما لم يُخيِّرْ أحدَكم بين إسلامِه وضَرْبِه عُنقَه، فإن خُيِّرَ بين إسلامِه وضَرْبِه عُنقَه، فليُقدِّم عُنقَه، فإنه لا دُنيا له ولا آخرةَ بعد إسلامِه" (3) ذكرُ فَضْل المهاجرين

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The rulers (imams) will be from Quraysh. Their righteous will be the leaders of the righteous, and their sinners will be the leaders of the sinners. Each (subject and ruler) has a right, so give everyone who has a right his right. Even if I appoint over you a mutilated-nosed Abyssinian slave as leader, listen to him and obey, as long as he does not make any of you choose between his Islam and having his neck struck (that is, force him into disbelief). If he is made to choose between (abandoning) Islam and having his neck struck, let him offer his neck, for after (the loss of) his Islam there is no worth for him in either this world or the Hereafter."
