أخبرنا الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا علي بن عبد العزيز، حدثنا مُعلَّى بن مَهدي المَوصلي، حدثنا أبو عَوانة، عن عمر بن أبي سَلَمة، عن أبيه قال: حدثني أسامة بن زيد قال: قال رسولُ الله ﷺ: "أحبُّ أهلي إليَّ مَن أنعمَ الله عليه وأنعمتُ عليه، أسامةُ" (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most beloved to me of my family is the one upon whom Allah has bestowed favour and upon whom I too have bestowed favour, that is, Usamah."
حدثني علي بن حَمْشاذ العَدْل، حدثنا محمد بن عيسى بن السَّكَن، حدثنا عفَّان وحجَّاج، قالا: حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، عن موسى بن عقبة، عن سالم، عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "أسامة أحبُّ الناس إليَّ" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Usamah is the most beloved of people to me."

أخبرني محمد بن صالح بن هانئ، حدثنا السَّرِي بن خُزيمة، حدثنا مسلم ابن إبراهيم، حدثنا قُرَّة بن خالد، حدثني محمد بن سِيرِين، قال: بَلَغَت النَّخلةُ على عهد عثمان بن عفّان ألفَ درهمٍ، فعَمَدَ أسامةُ بن زيد إلى نخلةٍ، فنَقَرها وأخرج جُمَّارها فأطعمها أمَّه، فقال له: ما حَمَلك على هذا وأنت ترى النَّخلةَ قد بلغت ألفًا؟! فقال: إِنَّ أمِّي سألَتْنِيه، ولا تسألُني شيئًا أقدِرُ عليه إلَّا أعطيتُها (2).

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Sirin that during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), the price of a single date palm reached a thousand dirhams. During that time, Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) went to a palm tree, cut it open, took out its pith (jummar) and fed it to his mother. He was asked: Why did you do this, when you can see that the price of a single palm tree has reached a thousand dirhams? He replied: "My mother asked me for it, and she does not ask me for anything that is within my power except that I give it to her."
أخبرني أحمد بن يعقوب الثَّقفي، حدثنا أبو جعفر الحَضْرمي، حدثنا سعيد بن عمرو الأشعَثي، حدثنا أبو بكر بن شعيب بن الحَبْحاب، قال: سمعتُ أشياخَنا يقولون: كان في نَقْشِ خاتم أسامةَ بن زيد: حِبُّ رسول الله ﷺ (1).
It is narrated from Abu Bakr bin Shu'ayb bin al-Habhab that he said: I heard our teachers saying that the engraving on the ring-stone of Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) was: "Hibb Rasulillah" (the beloved of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)).
حدثنا يحيى بن منصور القاضي، حدثنا أحمد بن سَلَمة، حدثنا إسحاق ابن إبراهيم، أخبرنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن الزُّهْري قال: كان أسامة بن زيد يُخاطَب بالأمير حتى مات، يقولون: بعثَه رسولُ الله ﷺ (2).

It is narrated from Imam al-Zuhri that Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) continued to be addressed as "Amir" until his death; people used to say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent him out (as commander of an army).
أخبرني عبد الله بن محمد الصَّيدلاني، حدثنا علي بن الحسين بن الجُنيد، حدثنا الحُسين بن يزيد الطَّحّان، حدثنا عائذ بن حَبيب، عن الحجَّاج بن أَرْطاة، عن الحَكَم، عن مِقسَم، عن ابن عبّاس، عن أسامة بن زيد قال: كنتُ رِدْفَ النبيِّ ﷺ بعرفةَ (3).
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as his companion rider (one seated behind him) on the occasion of Arafat.
