Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Important point: 'Affan in the chain is "Ibn Muslim al-Saffar" and Hajjaj is "Ibn al-Minhal".
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad recorded it in 9/ (5707) through the chain of 'Abd al-Samad bin 'Abd al-Warith from Hammad bin Salamah (Hammad bin Salamah bin Dinar), by this same route.
Details of the narration: It contains the addition: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) did not exclude Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) from this, nor anyone else".
Reference / Source: Within the account of appointing Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him) as commander, Imam Ahmad 9/ (5630) and al-Nasa'i (8130) recorded it through the route of Zuhayr bin Mu'awiyah, Imam Ahmad (5848) through the route of Wuhayb bin Khalid, and Imam al-Bukhari (4468) through the route of Fudayl bin Sulayman; all three narrate it from Musa bin 'Uqbah.
Details of the narration: Imam Ahmad's second narration and al-Nasa'i's contain the addition that Salim (bin 'Abd Allah bin 'Umar) said: "Whenever I heard 'Abd Allah bin 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrate this hadith, he would say that he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not except even Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) (from this love)".
Reference / Source: Imam Muslim recorded it in his Sahih (2426/ 64) through the chain of 'Umar bin Hamzah from Salim bin 'Abd Allah, by this same route.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Nasa'i (8129) recorded it through the chain of Muhammad bin Fulayh from Musa bin 'Uqbah from al-Zuhri from Salim.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In this chain Imam al-Zuhri has been added between Musa and Salim, but since Muhammad bin Fulayh sometimes makes mistakes (awham), his contradiction (of the reliable narrators) will not be accepted.
Reference / Source: Within the account of the command, Imam Ahmad 8/ (4701) and 10 / (5888), al-Bukhari (3730, 4250, 4469, 6627, 7187), Muslim (2426/ 63), al-Tirmidhi (3816), al-Nasa'i (8125) and Ibn Hibban (7044, 7059) recorded it through various routes from 'Abd Allah bin Dinar from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both).
