Lengthening the prayer and shortening the sermon is a sign of a man's understanding

It is narrated from Abu Wa'il that Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to us that was extremely eloquent and brief. We said: O Abu al-Yaqzan! You have spoken very comprehensively and briefly. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, the lengthiness of a man's prayer and the brevity of his sermon are a sign of his understanding (fiqh). So lengthen the prayer and keep the sermon short."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with this wording!

It is narrated from Amr bin Ghalib that a man spoke disparagingly of the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), in the presence of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Be quiet, you disgraced and rejected one! Do you harm the beloved of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?!"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

Masruq narrates from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "Look to Ammar bin Yasir (that is, follow him), for he will die upon the natural religion (fitrah), unless some slip overtakes him due to old age."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic).
