حدَّثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدَّثنا العبَّاس بن محمد الدُّوري، حدَّثنا وهب بن جَرير، حدَّثنا أبي، سمعتُ يحيى بن أيوب يحدِّث عن يزيد بن أبي حَبيب، عن أسلمَ أبي عِمْران التُّجِيبي، عن عُقْبة بن عامر قال: قلتُ: يا رسول الله، أقرأ من سورة يوسفَ وسورة هودٍ، قال: "يا عقبهُ، اقرأ بـ ﴿أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ﴾، فإنك لن تقرأ بسورةٍ أحبَّ إلى الله، وأبلغَ عندَه منها، فإنِ استطعتَ أن لا تَفُوتَك فافعَلْ" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, should I recite Surah Yusuf and Surah Hud?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Uqbah, recite 'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak' [Surah al-Falaq: 1], for you cannot recite any surah more beloved to Allah and more effective with Him than it. So if you are able not to let it slip from you, then do so."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 4033

حدَّثنا أبو جعفر أحمد بن عُبيد بن إبراهيم الحافظ بهَمَذان، حدَّثنا إبراهيم بن الحسين، حدَّثنا آدم بن أبي إياس، حدَّثنا ابن أبي ذِئْب، عن خاله الحارث بن عبد الرحمن، عن أبي سَلَمة، عن عائشة: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ أَخَذَ بيدِها فأشار بها إلى القمر، فقال: "استَعيذِي بالله من شرِّ هذا، فإنه الغاسقُ إِذا وَقَبَ" (2). صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took her by the hand, pointed towards the moon and said: "Seek refuge with Allah from the evil of this, for this is the darkening one (the moon) when it becomes dark."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
