حدثنا الأستاذ الإمام أبو الوليد ﵁، حدثنا أبو عبد الله البُوشَنْجي، حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل، حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن بِشْر بن جابانَ (1) الصَّنعاني، عن حُجْر بن قيس المَدَري قال: بِتُّ. عند أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب، فسمعتُه وهو يصلِّي من الليل يقرأُ فمرَّ بهذه الآية: ﴿أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تُمْنُونَ (58) أَأَنْتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ (59)﴾، قال: بل أنت يا ربِّ، ثلاثًا، ثم قرأ: ﴿أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَحْرُثُونَ (63) أَأَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ (64)﴾، قال: بل أنت يا ربِّ، بل أنت يا ربِّ، ثم قرأ: ﴿أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ (68) أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْزِلُونَ (69)﴾ قال: بل أنت يا ربِّ ثلاثًا، ثم قرأ: ﴿أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ (71) أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْشِئُونَ (72)﴾ قال: بل أنت يا ربِّ، ثلاثًا (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

Hujr bin Qays al-Madari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I spent a night with the Commander of the Believers, Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), and I heard him, while he was performing the night prayer (tahajjud), when he passed by this verse: "Have you considered what you emit? Is it you who create it, or are We the Creator?", say three times: "Rather You, O my Lord! (You are the Creator)." Then he recited: "Have you considered what you sow? Is it you who make it grow, or are We the grower?" and said twice: "Rather You, O my Lord! (You make it grow)." Then, when he recited: "Have you considered the water that you drink? Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or are We the One who sends it down?", he said three times: "Rather You, O my Lord! (You send it down)." Then, when he recited: "Have you considered the fire that you kindle? Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the Producer?", he said three times: "Rather You, O my Lord! (You are the Producer)."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith 3823

أخبرني أبو بكر محمد بن المؤمَّل، حدثنا الفضل بن محمد الشَّعْراني، حدثنا عمرو بن عَوْن الواسطي، حدثنا هُشَيم، أخبرنا حُصَين، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: أُنزِلَ القرآنُ في ليلة القَدْر من السماء العُلْيا إلى السماء الدُّنيا جُملةً واحدةً، ثم فُرِّق في السِّنين، قال: وتَلَا هذه الآية: ﴿فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ (75)﴾ [الواقعة: 75]، قال: نزل متفرِّقًا (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Qur'an was sent down on the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) from the highest heaven to the lowest heaven all at once; then it was sent down divided over the years (as needed). He recited this verse (as evidence): "So I swear by the positions of the stars" [Surah al-Waqi'ah: 75], and said that it was revealed in parts.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith 3824

أخبرنا أبو زكريا العَنبَري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدثنا إسحاق، أخبرنا جَرير، عن الأعمش، عن إبراهيم، عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد قال: كنا مع سلمان، فانطَلَق إلى حاجةٍ فتوارَى عنّا، ثم خرج إلينا وليس بيننا وبينه ماءٌ، قال: فقلنا له: يا أبا عبد الله، لو توضَّأتَ فسألناك عن أشياءَ من القرآن، قال: فقال: سَلُوا، فإني لستُ أَمَسُّه، إنما يَمسُّه المطهَّرون، ثم تلا: ﴿إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ (77) لَا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ (79)﴾ [الواقعة: 77 - 79] (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

Abdul Rahman bin Yazid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We were with Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him). He went to relieve himself and disappeared from our sight. Then, when he came back, and there was no water among us (for ablution), we said to him: O Abu Abdullah, if you had performed ablution, we would have asked you about some matters of the Qur'an. He said: "Ask me; I will not touch it. Indeed, only the purified touch it." Then he recited this verse: "Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an, which none touch except the purified" [Surah al-Waqi'ah: 77-79].
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith 3825

حدثني محمد بن صالح بن هانئ، حدثنا السَّرِي بن خُزيمة، حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد المقرئ، حدثنا موسى بن أيوب الغافِقي، حدثني إياس بن عامر الغافقي قال: سمعت عُقْبةَ بن عامر الجُهَني يقول: لما نزلت ﴿فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ (74)﴾ [الواقعة: 74]، قال لنا رسول الله ﷺ: "اجعَلوها في رُكوعِكم"، فلما نزلت ﴿سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى (1)﴾، قال: "اجعَلوها في سجودِكم" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. [57 - ومن تفسير سورة الحديد] ﷽

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When this verse was revealed: "So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great" [Surah al-Waqi'ah: 74], the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "Place it in your bowing (ruku')." Then, when the verse "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" was revealed, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Place it in your prostrations."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
